Yeah that does seem odd ... Maybe it's beyond the statute of limitations?

Or maybe Prince Andrew didn't technically break any laws? Though I can't see how unwanted or forced sex isn't rape ... Maybe the coercion was carried out by Epstein's people, and it was in London she was over the age of consent, which might not teeechnicalllyyyyy mean Andrew broke the letter of the law, if he could plead ignorance to her not wanting it?

Gahh who knows, if the allegations are true he should certainly face more than a civil suit?

She's wasting her time, he was munching on some doughballs in pizza express.

It's actually really common to go that route in the US, it's much easier to secure a win in a civil court than to even get a prosecutor to proceed with a case in criminal courts. Basically if the prosecution doesn't think they can build a case that has a reasonable chance of succeeding, they won't take it to court at all because of the cost. But in civil courts you basically have to cover your own costs, or the costs are built into the settlement ("no win no fee") and out of court settlements are thus very, very common... because they're cheaper for the accused (the money going to the accuser might even end up being the same, but the legal costs are MUCH lower).

…hmmmmmm…(…I think, Oliver…)…because a civil suit can go through its process without his physical presence there…?…that the criminal one can’t unless he can be questioned first by the FBI/US authorities and that’s something that has apparently been requested of him several times through legal teams with a refusal…isn’t his ‘story’ though that he was never asked and of course he will oblige if he ever is asked……I’m not sure that a criminal case could be pursued without him first being given the opportunity to respond to questioning…/whatever you say can be used in evidence against you etc etc /rights…it’s a different process for a civil/personal case…

I see, I see ...

It sucks that this is probably the closest he'll get to facing justice...

…yeah, that’s what makes him ‘above the law’ in that those Royal legal teams will never let him go…

Swan 10-08-2021 12:48 PM

Do the UK taxpayers have to fund this, or does it come out of the 'personal' royal kitty? Either way, Andrew will be fine. One rule for them etc

Ammi 10-08-2021 12:53 PM

…it’s probably a bit of a first really and no sexual allegation fund was accounted for…or maybe it was, I don’t know….go fund him fundraiser appeal…well it begins with an ‘f’ anyway, not sure the exact terminology is right….

The statute of limitations is due to run out apparently

of course he's guilty, should've been made public much much sooner

if those royals continue to protect this creep, abolish the monarchy pls

Forget Resident Evil, we've got Resident Paedo if the allegations are true.:joker:

If he is guilty (which in all honesty it doesn't look good for him) then he is a disgrace to the Royal Family.

Yep Andy is finished ...what a year for her Maj

Interesting that Sarah Ferguson is helping him fight his case

bots 12-08-2021 06:41 AM

the lesson is clear. Choose your friends carefully, because the wrong choice can ruin your life, innocent or guilty. He was around Epstein for long enough to know exactly what he was like

Not so. Andrew had known Sarah since childhood, where they met frequently at polo matches - her father was Charles's polo manager. She was also a friend of Diana's, who played matchmaker.
Koo wasn't a porn star, she appeared in one film topless, which in those days put paid to her relationship with Andrew when it was revealed.
