I don't understand what this thread is about.

Is it some Irish thing?

Alf 22-08-2021 04:45 PM

Gaelic football?

Alf 22-08-2021 04:48 PM

Is there a difference between Gaelic Football and Australian rules football or are they the same thing?

There's differences, Aussies Rules has a different shaped ball as well, we do a mixed rules version with them though called International rules and have tournaments

I know the legend that is Brian Carney who used to play Gaelic football but came to Rugby League. Now he's the main TV presenter on Sky sports rugby league coverage.

Is Brian Carney a big name back in Ireland.

He's a Cork man.

He played for Great Britain at rugby league, he used to put his head down in shame and look embarrassed when they used to stand for the National anthem. A proud Irishman, but played for Great Britain because that's all there was to play for at the time.
