This is why doing multiple tests are important in situations like this.

Obviously though the fact that the tests are picking up signs of Lesions potentially means that sadly he was not in the clear.

This is obviously terrible, but I'd love to see the Venn diagram of folks up in arms at this, and folks that didn't care about tories voting against feeding kids.

Let's just agree that when it comes to being humane the Tories aren't very good at it to put it kindly.

The way they've also tried to demonize Rashford for having a normal response to help feeding kids isn't a good look on the party either.

It's not even shocking at this point, hope at least the idiots who forced this through take heed and do more testing next time. Poor Geronimo.

Could she not of got a vet to test it for her ?

Everyone would have contributed to the costs

Yes however she needed the government to accept the result of such a test.

She could have had any amount of tests done I guess.
However unless the government were in agreement to accept a negative result.
All would be meaningless.

She had other vets who all claimed the Alpaca was healthy.

The government department DEFRA had the Alpaca tested, they state years ago, he tested positive twice!.

So the death sentence was passed on him and she's fought this for years.

Doing all the right things.
Appealing to the government department for a new agreed independently done test.
They refused.

Then appealing directly to the government Minister.
Who only stood by the DEFRA tests.
So refused again for an independent test to be done once more.

She then, with her supporters handed a multi thousands petition in to the government.

She also directly appealed to the Prime Minister.
Who no one knows if he even got in touch with her.

The end result would be no matter what test she had done herself, WITHOUT the government agreeing to abide by any new test.
It wouldn't have mattered.

The government Minister was pushed in interviews on TV on this, however he just said, they stood by the original DEFRA department tests done.

After something like 4 years and Geronimo looking so fit, alert, eating, drinking, running round everytime she had him on TV when interviewed.

I'll never understand what the government feared from one more agreed totally independent test being done on the Alpaca.

No amount of her own tests done, could overrule the government's order to kill Geronimo.
From the tests of years ago done by the government department.

It's even more odd that tests years ago stated he was CERTAINLY positive.
Then post mortem results indicating he may have lesions which could POSSIBLY,( only possibly), be TB.

Well something stinks to high heaven here.
Tragic to think any animal can be slaughtered by governments, for ONLY POSSIBLY having something.

She really did all she could, doing so by appealing through all the right channels.
Even to the PM himself.
Just to have it all dismissed.
I really feel for her, the one thing good to see was her genuine affection for in essence one of her pets.
To then be so cruelly robbed of Geronimo.

In Australia, they killed dogs in an animal shelter because they did not want people to go there and rescue them coz covid

but they were happy for the people to go there and kill them

She should sue Kazanne.

However with the weight of the government behind the order.
Plus now even if we even get the truth of the post mortem too.

She's likely on a losing battle.

I don't understand why she's getting criticism for that awful last moments.
I consider myself usually level headed, however if those coming to kill a pet of mine, with the ridiculous number of Police present.
As was the case the day they came to kill him.

I would panic, feeling then powerless to save a pet I loved.
It must have been a nightmare, a living nightmare.

Yet it seems had she rolled over and tried to calm Geronimo so they could then kill him anyway.
She'd have got no criticism.

I doubt you, or myself or Livia who expressed the same thoughts as myself..
Would be able to act in a carefree way while watching the inevitable on the day, killing of a pet we believed healthy and which had done nothing wrong.

I hate any cruelty to animals.
Just simply refusing to order a new independently done test, is in itself plain cruelty to this Alpaca.
In my opinion it is anyhow.

They definitely should've done another test to put it to rest.

Also let's be honest here it doesn't take much for our Government to want to kill animals at the best of times, a potentially false positive test just made them giddy with excitement and they weren't willing to pass the opportunity by.

I agree completely a new test should have been done.

It's all she was pleading for and all that was required.
A totally independently done test.

One has to ask the begging question, why would the government not grant that.

This whole thing still affects me.

Where on earth has just even ' basic' decency and compassion gone.
