Sure but by the same token people shouldn't be automatically thought to be liars either for speaking about their experiences, no matter how much time has passed. Time passing doesn't mean that it never happened

Yeah I know once something has been said ,it can follow them around and even ruin careers. But we might never know for sure whether he's guilty or not .

I don't automatically think of them as liars i just wonder why after such a long time, but as Joey pointed out the other lady said hers was 2 years ago, so I guess the truth will out hopefully.

What on earth do people imagine that women with successful careers have to gain from lying about dirty pawing old creeps touching them up?

Where did the idea that this somehow benefits their careers come from?

It wrecks them. The workload investigators have to put in to convince people to come forward at all is absolutely massive. Hence, most never tell anyone, because even when the handsy bastards ARE found to have done wrong, the women's reputations are trashed by the Old Boys anyway. And yet there's a narrative that adult women who have worked on their careers are doing it for what? Attention? This sort of attention doesn't end well for anyone. It usually ends BETTER for the accused than the accuser.

Yep. A lot of times even if it's found to be true, the woman will be blamed in some way "She wasn't complaining at the time" "probably got ahead in her career because of it" etc etc etc

TS

Caroline was a Good Cabinet minister

Stanley's son removed her.

She has nothing to lose now
her kids can be proud of her.

Yes that's often the only time people finally feel comfortable coming forward (unfortunately)

arista 16-11-2021 01:21 PM

[Caroline has used her position to campaign
on subjects close to her heart,
including the equine industry,
issues affecting children
(especially those with autism and Special Educational Needs),
rural affairs, consumer protection, energy policy
and the environment, the brewing
and pub industry, planning and international development.
Caroline has introduced two pieces of legislation,
on consumer protection and on dangerous dogs.]

From her Site.

I still don't get this wondering why after a long time stuff, why does time passing somehow make the accusation less likely then if it happened last week? In this case how long ago it was, was probably the exact reason she didn't accuse him at that time, the longer ago it was, the more "OK" it was to touch women inappropriately. That's just society in general but there could be many of her own personal reasons she didn't feel strong enough to come out and say something back then. Maybe she knew she'd be called a liar, that people wouldn't believe her but now she's older she's more able to deal with that? Maybe she felt he was in too much of a position of power back then, there could be many many reasons why now was the time she chose

the time gap has a lot to do with family circumstances too. Things like school aged children, elderly parents could all easily affect her ability to speak out

Because Caroline Nokes
on SkyNewsHD
woke her up.

Stanley does not care what party they are in
his hands like touching up younger women.
