I mean it's worth point out that the only thing the people supporting him did "wrong" was believe that he was telling the truth - or in other words, they did nothing at all wrong.

Yeah, maybe the Hollywood celebs can be given an exemption on this, after all being a fantasist is in their nature, but the journalists and politicians have no excuse, especially the journalists who you would expect to do some investigative journalism before pushing their political division.

The first I heard about this was on here, all I did is read the article that some member posted and I was immediately suspicious because it just sounded too far fetched.

I was made out to be the bad guy for that and called all sorts of insulting names. I think I was supposed to believe the media narrative, but as you know from this pandemic, I don't do that.

Well, they were objectively wrong in that they were incorrect :joker:

I believed him for a while, but even I found it farfetched that, well, anyone would recognise him in passing :joker: let alone when he was wrapped up for the cold weather, and it was dark snowy night.

And it's more than Paedophilia.

So they think black people are more likely to tolerate a scumbag lying about hate crimes?

UserSince2005 11-03-2022 02:11 AM

:joker:

As if.

The reason Epstein "committed suicide" was because he had dirt on the Clintons and other rich powerful pervs. Jussie has consistently shown he knows nothing at all. Why the hell would he be targetted for "suicide" ?

The only people who'll see him as anything but the personification of Jar Jar Binks will be people who got sentenced or remanded for defending themselves against actual attackers, but whose defence team couldn't prove it.

It's like how when a provably false and malicious rape claim gets women more angry than men, as it makes it harder for real victims to be taken seriously.

There have been suggestions (that frankly... aren't that far-fetched) that none of it was his plan and he was "hired" by someone with an agenda. Potentially someone with a bit of political power and influence. To be honest it does make sense in many ways, it's easy to believe that he wasn't the "mastermind" behind any of this, and that he was brought in by someone else to create this scenario but ended up ****ing it up and getting caught in the lie. He doesn't seem like the brightest spark. And may now be worried that he "knows too much" and that person will want him gone.

Hmm ... if the rumour was that the whole thing was some kind of 4D chess to discredit victims, I could believe that. But every part of his plan was stupid and fked up, I totally believe he was the "mastermind" :joker:

If someone had hired him, you'd think it would be better handled?

Warning! Use of the N word on multiple occasions (it's Dave Chappelle, what do you expect?)

Mr Smollett's sentencing.

It sounds like he thinks he's gonna get whacked. He says "I am not suicidal"

Increased sense of ego + persecution complex.

bots 14-03-2022 12:27 PM

well, he could now commit suicide and then there would be 100 conspiracy theories

Alf 14-03-2022 12:27 PM

Here he is being carted off to jail. He continues to put on a show. A true professional to the end.

Alf 16-03-2022 10:40 PM

I have mixed feelings on the Covid debate.

But you're absolutely bang on about Jussie Smollett faking it tbf, and like you I am suspicious if there might've been someone else involved.

I don't get this post?

Is there a provaloge in being gay over being white?

Interested in what this is?

As for this case, so what was he trying to push politically?

user104658 23-06-2022 06:50 AM

It was at the height of “MAGA hat fever” so like I said earlier in the thread, I don’t think it’s that far fetched to wonder if someone stoking the flames plotted it out to be a high profile case but it’s been bodged.

That said, for the very same reason (it being a political hot potato at the time) it’s equally feasible that he planned it himself in some mad attempt at career exposure. It’s certainly made him a household name, just not in the way he intended…

As for the actual time served I’m not really all that surprised - other than wasted police time it’s hard to point to a specific victim in this crime.

Oliver_W 23-06-2022 07:42 AM

While it's funny that his own stupidity landed him in jail, I agree victimless crimes shouldn't really earn jail time. Hit.him where it hurts and give him a massive fine.

bots 23-06-2022 08:07 AM

to me it was a publicity stunt that went wrong. The jail time was effectively for wasting police time
