We're still doing it but my parents want everyone to take a lateral flow test now on Christmas eve. Understandable but could lead to some nasty surprises!

My brother was supposed to be going to a wedding celebration this weekend but it's been cancelled after 30% of guests dropped out. I've got an engagement party I'm going to Saturday night in Bristol City centre - it's still going ahead but even though I'm not too worried about covid it's in the back of your mind that if this leads to a positive covid test then that means Xmas day alone which isn't much fun. On the other hand it could be a blessing in disguise

Have you adjusted your plans for the next ten days or so in light of the covid situation?

Well now my cousin has tested positive so my Uncle's family isn't coming, my brothers girlfriend is positive so he's anxiously awaiting a pcr result, and I went to this engagement party last night and one of the guests has tested positive today :skull:

So all going very well

i shouldnt laugh but its the only way to view things and stay sane

And my brother officially is positive so will be spending Christmas day in his flat alone and three more guests from my night out on Saturday are now positive :skull:

Best case scenario now is Christmas is just three of us unless or until I also get Omicron lol. I've always said I quite fancy spending one Christmas on my own but rather not through forced isolation

2 of these have cancelled now as they're too nervous......

If you don't want to test positive and ruin your Christmas then don't take a test. Simples. If you're not feeling ill then what's the problem?

Return to pre 2020 mindset, it's a more sane mindset.

Trust the vaccines and the booster. If you can't trust them then you're stuck in this for the rest of your life. Every Christmas will be the same, without your family because someone tested positive even after their 45th vaccine.

but not if you did not know you had it, most healthy adults are able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop

Crimson Dynamo 20-12-2021 02:57 PM

Bono of of U2 thought he had tested positive for the covids but his doctor said it was just a bad case of catarrh.

His agent released a statement from the front man which read: "Well tonight thank God its phlegm, instead of Flu"

as always people can do what they want, but if they do go on to kill someone vulnerable in their family they can live with it on their conscience for the rest of their lives. I won't have that issue, and am happy with my decisions

If they are triply jabbed then there is zero issue

you may as well fret about them getting killed in a car crash on the way

or choking to death on a Turkey bone

So what is your way out of this? Does this just continue for ever and ever?

What was the reason you went out and had the Vaccines? Was it so you could get your life back to normality? or to stay as we are and pray they stop you from dying?

I don't get it.

My dad's worse than most of you lot with all this Covid stuff.

Just been around to his house to drop his presents off and he won't even let me in his house, it has to be a doorstep conversation. He listens to Boris religiously, like Arista does.

My mother is totally different. I'll be going to hers on Christmas eve and she won't even care about the Covid stuff.

Day 7 for him would be Christmas day so wouldn't quite be able to get home in time if he did get the negatives

He's actually going to his girlfriends now for a coronachristmas lol although I'm sure that's not technically allowed
