It does sound like this is the end, you don't rush the whole family up there if this is something she is likely to 'recover' from

i think it will be life as normal during any mourning period, cant see football being cancelled. Black armbands at most

It may be out of respect if the worst scenario happened black armbands are worn.
I agree, the main informative thing from this news is the advised gathering of now it seems all of immediate family
