the only country that can stop the illegal trafficking of immigrants from france to the uk is france. We can wring our hands and say its terrible, but france needs to take action if its going to stop it and we should be improving our relationship with france so that they are more likely to listen to us. That's the only approach that can possibly work

I agree. It's much safer to send women and children on a perilous journey and have the men staying at home.
