this is why they are doing it .........

The Welsh Rugby Union is facing allegations of sexism and discrimination that have left the MP and former Wales international Tonia Antoniazzi expressing “great concerns” over the women’s game in the country. A number of former WRU employees have taken part in an investigation by BBC Wales, to be screened on Monday night, making accusations about their time at the governing body.

Charlotte Wathan, the general manager of women’s rugby until her resignation last February, claims offensive comments by a colleague left her in tears and feeling sick. Another, unnamed, contributor says she was left contemplating suicide by her experiences of bullying and sexism at work, according to BBC Wales Investigates. Incidents of racism and homophobia are also alleged.

The WRU said an “amicable resolution” had been reached with Wathan “satisfying both parties” after an investigation by an external law firm. It said a confidentiality agreement between the parties prevented further details. It noted that another of the complaints had been investigated and subsequently withdrawn, while new information included in the broadcast would be “followed up and acted upon”.

A spokesperson said: “The Welsh Rugby Union condemns the use of racist, homophobic or sexist language and states in the strongest possible terms that racism, homophobic, sexist or bullying behaviour has no place in Welsh rugby.”

A statement said: “It is vitally important to note that we have a duty of care as employers to both the complainants and those complained against. That duty of care continues and we are deeply concerned about the effect of this programme on those individuals in respect of the fact the allegations described remain unsubstantiated following a thorough independent legal investigation.”

After all the allegations of misogyny and abuse of women levelled at the WRU, they've responded by banning fans singing a song. Genius.

They have to be seen to be doing something other than attend functions to justify the high salaries they pay themselves.

Alf 02-02-2023 04:48 PM

The lyric doesn't suggest he was gonna use it on her. He just had a knife in his hand. Maybe he was about to chop some onions?

Right about you, yesterday you were worried about the dangers and influence over Sam Smith’s song, now today you’re back to ‘it’s just a song’, making it very clear what your real problem was with it, so predictable

If anyone is physically harming women because they listened to Delilah, then they were already a ****ed up individual anyway.

I feel like we're honestly going backwards with some of these decisions being made, I honestly won't be shocked that when GTA VI comes out that it isn't much more reserved just to avoid all of this pathetic drama.

It is a pretty disturbing lyric, to be fair.

Maybe he was trying to create a song with a darker tone to it? Which should be allowed.

Are you actually feeling ok ??

There's plenty of innapropriate songs ,but where do you draw the line ??.

And as far as I know....I never saw Tom Jones performing anything visually crossing the line .

glad you have the USA Color version

I mean the song is literally about a man killing a woman for cheating on him and arguing that it's her own fault for "making him crazy" with her actions - a classic time-old excuse used by abusers and people who murder their partners.

But I guess if people like that sort of thing that's on them :umm:. Forum's descending further into Redpill misogyny by the day it seems. Remember when The Truth got banned for his aggressive misogyny and we mostly understood why that was justified?

He'd fit right in these days :joker:. Let's invite him back. At least he was unintentionally funny.

Here he comes to save the day.

Women will never be unsafe with you here as their protection.

If the line isn't before this:

I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more

My, my, my Delilah
Why, why, why Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take anymore

Then there clearly is no line. I possibly shouldn't be surprised tha you're OK with the song GoldHeart - you did support Depp over Heard, after all, as did many on here, and I suppose that mindset requires making excuses for men becoming violent when women don't behave how they want them to. By that logic, the song is fine.

Personally I'd be banning it from more than Rugby matches, and getting the sniffer dogs in for a walk round Tom Jones' vegetable patch.

You should do, you wouldn't be so touchy.

Because I'd be the tragic prisoner of the emotional shutdown associated with deep depression?

Unbelievable :bored:

Where have I ever excused men being violent towards women!??. Are you asleep when I comment on Andrew Tate?? .

Let's do a top 40 countdown of the song lyrics the facists should ban.

"Mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead"

'I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die'

Steps

"Too Weak To Resist"

We stood before our friends and pledged eternal love
To have and to hold
We both meant every word and spoke of one above
Love could not grow cold

Then I found myself so many nights
Wandering with a claw hammer and duct tape
Out to split a skull
And bury her in my crawl space

:nono:

Alf 03-02-2023 01:18 PM

O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your likes again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against them,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent them homeward,
Tae think again
