also fun facts for Brazil

this will be Marta's 6th World Cup appearance

she's basically the female ''romario'' ''ronaldinho'' ''pele''

a football legend, all time goalscorer of a women's world cup too with 17 goals in all appearances so far

Nicky91 10-07-2023 08:06 AM

throwback time, one of the most iconic women's world cup finals to date, 1999 USA on home soil vs China

and it was that same year that superstar Mia Hamm that time of TeamUSA had a gatorade commercial with legends such as Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning, Mark Martin, a big moment for women's soccer in the US

Australia women want equal pay from FIFA

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-07-...-cup/102608176

This isn't really a complex debate imo. Men's football generates 99% of the money in football compared to women's. It's a no brainer.

I read that Australia women are doing pretty well for ticket sales, but New Zealand can't give them away.

fifa had to blackmail tv companies to get them to fork up the cash for tv rights. It very nearly wasn't going to be broadcast in the UK

no doubt Ian Wright will be there pretending to be interested whilst making easy money and that god-awful Geordie woman from Im a celeb who they put on mens football panels as some sort of affirmative action bolloxio

Well from what I can see the England Lionesses are well supported but drop down to league level and there’s just not as much interest ( aside from the top teams )

Women’s Super League stats

Overall, average crowds in the WSL stand at 6,961 for the season up to January 21, 2023,

Gabby Logan and Alex Scott are the main BBC host. So yeah, no thanks.

Said it before, say it again, Gabby Logan was passing through the town i live in when she was doing Stictly. She demanded this HUGE whole sport and swimming centre close for her to train for a few hours, even though she was offered a private hall that was shut off to the public.

So she's worse than Scott imo.

But both are insufferable, yes.

England women’s pay talks put on hold until AFTER the World Cup ..

The women are demanding more whilst the FA say that their 300% increases since the last World Cup is enough ..

now LIVE on BBC1

next game is on ITV, which is Australia vs Ireland

Zizu 20-07-2023 07:04 AM
