In today's Times Paper
a report in South London
9 out 10 cameras are Stolen or wires cut.

This is meant to be up and running by Tuesday.
So a great amount to be fixed.

The best part about this scheme is if you can afford 12.50 a day you can pollute the air as much as you like ...just hand over that cash

hope this is the end of him, he has been a terrible Mayor, ashamed to say i voted for him in his first term

AnnieK 29-08-2023 07:23 AM

Am hoping Burnham is watching the backlash to this, he has been trying to push one through for manchester.....all the infrastructure is in place and it is currently "under review" because everyone kucked off massively

Yes, the cost of living crisis,
has made this Overpriced
Outer London Charge at £12.50 is
destroying people.

Even the GMB Union
stated workers that have to drive
to the Airports to work,
can not get a bus at 4AM.

Manchester
it will be the Price they bring in
will it be £5, or £8 or more?
They have not yet, stated the price.

arista 29-08-2023 07:49 AM

Some Councils
have not put up signs
warning people they are going into the
£12:50 pay zone

That's wrong

Sadiq Khan defiant as hated ULEZ expansion comes into force: London Mayor ignores backlash and Labour alarm - denying £12.50-a-day charge is 'anti-car'
Story by James Tapsfield, Political Editor For Mailonline •
1h

Sadiq Khan is defying fury from Londoners and rising Labour alarm today as the ULEZ expansion comes into force.

In a bruising round of interviews this morning, the mayor denied that extending the ultra-low emission zone to almost all of the capital was 'anti-car'.

He dismissed fears from allies of Keir Starmer about the political consequences of imposing the £12.50-a-day levy so widely - insisting people 'want to see their leaders taking bold action'.

But Tories stepped up their attacks on the policy, branding it a 'money-raising exercise' - and warning that the end-game will be a pay-per-mile system for drivers.

Transport Secretary Mark Harper said he would have blocked the plan if he had the power.

yeah so have it on the road with the charge.

Also, the only real vehicles that are affected here are old white vans so, honestly, who cares. I certainly don't

arista 29-08-2023 10:30 AM

But loads of low paid workers
drive to airports and factories

Late Working hours Buses do not run

The GMB Union is against
this high £12:50 charge

thats not true, I have friends who had perfectly good run around cars for getting to and from work who have had to upgrade before they planned to, there are people who drive classic cars who are now caught in this as well, plus businesses, the guys who did our removal have had to upgrade all their lorries to comply, small business like florists and those who rely on vans, plus delivery drivers who use their own vehicles, who can afford 60.00 odd pounds a week to given to Khan

and in addition he extended the scrappage scheme so late and it will not be backdated they cannot claim it :skull:

You should care that under the fake pretense of clean air the London mayor in making a cash grab on his citizens. Its thoroughly dishonest

Glasgow city council spends £3k a week hiring vans at eleventh hour to comply with LEZ

Hundreds of vehicles belonging to the SNP-run local authority are not compliant with the
controversial low emissions zone – so it is simply spending taxpayers' cash to hire new
motors instead

An estimated 600 vehicles in Glasgow City Council's fleet of motors are not permitted
inside its Low Emission Zone (LEZ) which was introduced on June 1. The banned list
even includes the Lord Provost's VW Phaeton limousine.

One Underground is clean
the Elizabeth Line, of course, newly built.

The Mayor Khan claims they are working on
getting the underground clean air.

It is just very slow,
