Another one: people who are literally perfect strangers getting way too close and asking overly personal questions before you’ve even established a rapport and got to know each other a little bit. It’s all a lack of boundary-awareness.

Adverts. Some adverts are useful, relevant and interesting but when you don’t have YouTube Premium and all you want to do of a night is put some videos or recorded podcasts on, 4-minute adverts popping up and cutting into your valuable listening time is a piss-take.

Things like this !!

People who crap on Liverpool without having ever been. I have a foot in a lot of cities in the U.K. and don’t feel that bound to any one but Liverpool’s a much better city than people who ride off the ’70s/’80s bad rep. give it credit for. Not like the unsympathetic dump that is much of London, where people will walk over a bloke having a seizure.

Just bit into a Mars bar … first one for years !!
How small are they noway !! ( and no it’s not bitesize one ) These companies are criminals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Feeling like you have to apologise for setting a boundary or making your feelings be known about a certain something because the other person will get defensive and make it more about them.

Admittedly it's been a while since I've been to Handsworth, but I actually don't mind any of those areas when I've been to those places. |
And hold on someone from London walked past someone else having a seizure? That's evil.

All-in-all there are better places to raise a family. Better job opportunities if you’re not doing blue-collar healthcare or police work (and black police officers seem to be represented and respected more outside London) and a bit more bustle in terms of things to do but it’s extremely expensive, cold in mentality and can be suffocating. You’re much bettrr off in one of the Home Counties and commuting into London if you can’t honestly afford anything more than in some box with 12 other people trying to shoe-horn in. London itself is a dump if you’re not rich or you’re not there specifically because you need a certain type of lifestyle that you can only get (at least on that scale) in London. Otherwise it’s just somewhere to visit/work, not live. I love Kent and I love a lot of what London has to offer (despite it sounding like I’m just crapping on it) but I’d think long and hard about actually living in London. I have lots of family down there and I’ve been down there and back up to Liverpool and other places across the U.K. for as long as I can remember and then some so it wouldn’t be that big a jump but like I say I’d think twice about not just living in Kent instead and only visiting London when need be. |
Ingratitude.

Seriously, people who expect you to be at the door waiting for them when they decide to turn up (no matter if you’ve worked a 13-hour night shift and are fast asleep or you’re in the show). The least you can do is let the other person you’re coming if you’re not super-close. Only best friends are allowed to just turn up on the doorstep without notice. It’s so rude and entitled. If it’s a surprise-visit, you may or may not get lucky and you’ll just have to deal with whichever way it goes. People do actually have lives to live and other things to do than wait for you when they don’t even know you’re coming in the first place (no shade, no disrespect, but come on).
At the moment, having to wait a week between Strictly episodes (I’m actually really getting into it this year). These past 2 weeks have been lit. People who always find something to whinge, mumble and complain about (if I haven’t said that one already). The irony is a lot of these people are the ones complaining that no-one gives them any peace but they by their actions are more opposed to it than anyone else. Just let there be peace when there doesn’t need to be drama or high tension. Life’s too … not super-short by any means but ya. It’s not long enough to mumble about trivial things, not when there’s enough space in the world to make you miserable as it is without finding some for no reason. And in any case it’s a waste of time. If it’s not going to matter of 5 minutes or 5 hours, try not to spend more than 5 seconds or minutes grumbling about it. Life will always bring minor annoyances and they’ll come and go. There’s no point extending the come part. So if you want to be angry (and we all have our moments, and rightfully so), warrant it towards things that truly deserve your anger. Not someone eating the last eclair by accident. |
