That's decent though I did sorta hope for more with it on ITV1. Suspect it'll drop to under 1.5m tonight

Will. 09-10-2023 08:58 AM

Launch night viewing figures

2 Million on ITV

500K on ITV 2

Quite decent, although it was on ITV.

Probably will drop a bit now it’s on ITV 2.

“Big Brother launched last night for the first time ever on ITV with an incredible audience of 2.5 MILLION viewers! It’s the most watched episode of #BBUK since in over A DECADE.

It pulled in 2m on ITV1 and 500k on ITV2, with a huge overall share of 20%!”

What’s the average for Love Island?

James 09-10-2023 09:21 AM

This is the context.

Vanessa 09-10-2023 09:22 AM

That's pretty good.
I expect it to drop a bit when the show goes to itv2. But it will settle. Big Brother has a loyal audience.

That's still ok for itv2.

Last years Love Island launched to 1.3 million but that show has such a massive number of people who catch up that i believe it went over 3 million?

I was expecting a bit more tbh but if it can retain a large chunk of these numbers that's still great for itv2. BB has never really had a massive catch up figure has it so i wonder this time round if it will?

Tomorrows episode should tell us how many people just casually tuned it to see what it was about and how many are here for the full series.

Agree about not having massive catch up figures. It's one of those shows you can miss a few episodes and dive back in.

Will. 09-10-2023 09:51 AM

I have a feeling it will drop considerably. The launch was enjoyable but missed some excitement, a very meh male cast I think.

I reckon 900-1.2M on ITV 2.

Yeah it’s only the hardcore fans that will watch everyday

Scarlett. 09-10-2023 10:29 AM

2.5m on the overnights is a very respectable number, I imagine ITVX will bump it up significantly

Corrie only gets 3/4m these days, so 2.5m on a Sunday night is quite impressive

Oh that's interesting, thought it'd be more around the 6/7m mark

daniel-lewis-1985 09-10-2023 11:04 AM

Its up against MAFS Tonight, what does that show average in overnights? I know it's popular.

Cal. 09-10-2023 03:55 PM

I think it’s a great rating.

2.6 million viewers watched the launch show, which is the highest number of viewers for an opening show since 2012.

As well as being the most streamed show of the day across ITVX, The ITV1 show ranked number one in its timeslot for both total viewers and young adults (16-34) and.....

Impressive figures - particularly given the main demographic of BBUK is much more likely to stream nowadays. Me and my housemates watched it on ITVX as we don't have broadband TV in our flat anyway

Dogeatdog 09-10-2023 07:30 PM

Pretty good number really.

Will. 10-10-2023 09:27 AM

Scarlett. 10-10-2023 11:35 AM

1.4m is very good for a highlights ep, on ITV2 too

Vanessa 10-10-2023 11:36 AM

I enjoyed last night highlights show. All natural nothing forced.
