The only thing I wondered was about the mezzanine - is Kerry able to access it? There were quite a lot of them up there at one point.

There is a lift, I believe

Oh fgs, surely then Hallie and Kerry were being racist towards Olivia if we're going down that road

Hallie won't be accused of anything as she's trans , she happily threw Farida under the bus though.

ITV are definitely doing a much better job than C5 did

smudgie 11-10-2023 10:19 AM

I need to give it a week or so, then I get hooked.
Not watching more than 10-20minutes of live feed and I get bored with the birdsong.

Same here. I hate reboots. They always seem to change the things that made success.:fist:

But yeah I am lovin' BB 2023. :D There are a couple of annoying housemates likes Jordan who thinks he's funny.

He's actually dull as ditchwater. :p

But not everyone can be likeable. :p

The other one that gets a bit on me t*** is that blonde Chanelle. I'm not sure of her age, but I think she's about 40. Could be younger but she is coming across a bit, you know...err...loose. :p

I liked seeing more of them interact on the live feed ,but it does get annoying when we miss conversation & jokes due to the bird noises.

What d’you mean? Bird song’s the best bit!

bots 11-10-2023 10:50 AM

there seemed to be a lot of bird song in the first hour last night

James 11-10-2023 11:00 AM

There's more bird song early in a Big Brother series, when there are a lot of housemates, than later on.

On the topic of the house, here's what it looked like in 2020

I never watched the Channel 5 versions, but from most of what I saw, the show felt like it had a cheaper air about it, which isn't surprising, because, Channel 5 xD

Yeah... If I remember it rightly the budget got slashed in those years.

As much as I didn't like the idea of the house being built in a soundstage, I quite like it, just the fact that there isn't a lot of outdoor space for the garden/eviction set. Hopefully ITV eventually opts to build a freestanding house like at Elstree instead

I think a big problem with the Garden Studios house, is basically, its right next to a public road, so you might get trouble from some idiots, whereas Elstree and 3 Mills were kinda away from the public.

I agree about the garden too, its quite limiting for the future, hopefully they decide to build a new house, ITV Bovingdon would probably be a great location for it

Brekkie 12-10-2023 08:00 AM

BB outgrew the house compound in Elstree around BB7 really - the show arguably suffered from not having a big enough plot. Also remember although it was purpose built the Elstree house was essentially built as an empty sound stage rather than a house, hence how they were able to reconfigure it so frequently.

I think the new main living area is amazing although I'm not a fan of the huge corridor between the main living area and bedroom/bathroom and even longer corridor to the diary room. The bedroom and bathroom are also far too big. Minor complaints really.

The garden could be bigger but it's fine for a winter series. Personally I'd ditch the outdoor stage and take advantage of the studio being so close and do evictions from in there - baffling how they haven't made more of an entrance there just by turning the Late and Live set slightly so the tunnel lines up with the fire door they're using as the exit. The outdoor set could easily be replicated indoors and improved though.

As for the location - yes a concern it's quite easily accessed by the public (perhaps a reason why they've built the eviction stage between the garden and canal) but it also benefits from being in an industrial area so they don't have the problem of local residents wanting them to be quiet after 8pm.
