Autism/ Aspergers are so difficult to explain/ understand

Every autistic person is unique.. just with numerous similarities with others on the spectrum

If you grouped ten autistics in a room maybe only two of them would talk to each other .. the others may not even make eye contact

I myself am Aspergers which used to be described as ‘high functioning’ autism as I / we can mask/hide all our anxieties/ idiosyncrasies from you ‘normal’ folk :)

I only share information about myself when I know I can trust someone implicitly

Also has Yin deals with someone who has it daily she would have said something if she though he had the same but there is no indication she even thinks that

He's not nasty and spiteful at all. No doubt he's a complex character.
And Yinrun is very close to him. She seems to understand him very wel

I totally agree.

I also think it’s quite offensive to people on the spectrum, to see his behaviour and the way he’s treating people like dirt for his own entertainment and to just try and link it to autism, it doesn’t sit right with me at all

Ammi 08-11-2023 12:03 PM

…that’s an interesting thought, Vanessa…I think this has been discussed before…(…not here but on another site…)…quite a while ago when they first went in and on social media as well, I think…so obviously something that people are thinking …

I asked it in another thread as I wasn't sure but seems there is no certaincy but it would explain a few more things if true.

His mum already made a post on facebook saying that Jordan does not have autism.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 08-11-2023 06:08 PM

Just when I was calling Jordan a dickhead a thread about possible autism pops up

I am autistic and have also wondered if Jordan might be. His not speaking to Henry the other day all day and then the next day not speaking to Matty could have been because he needed space from them to try and sort his head and feelings out. In the real world he would simply have switched off his phone for a day and avoided seeing them and it wouldn't have been as noticeable. I often find it very hard to manage my thoughts and feelings and avoid people when I am stressed.

Or could he just be a dickhead though?

It would explain a lot.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 08-11-2023 06:14 PM

Would somebody with Austim be so self aware as to say that it "is true that I am heartless to some extent"?

Dogeatdog 08-11-2023 06:17 PM

He reminds me of Sheldon from “The Big Bang Theory”. He’s just hella awkward.

Am I the only one who finds publicly speculating on whether somebody is autistic to be really bad taste?

There's just similarities with people with autism, I don't see it in bad taste .

Yes. I think there's people why may have it, but don't know.
To be honest I also have some of those traits. But who knows?

So now people can stop assigning his asshole personality to autism for no reason whatsoever

Nope it’s disgusting and it’s only being done to find an excuse for his bad behaviour, the attempted linking of cruelty to autism is wildly inappropriate

No it's not making excuses for his bad behaviour. Well not on my part anyway.....I just noticed he is very cold and socially awkward at times , the guy talked about his dad or was it stepdad?... Overdosing and his face showed zero emotion, it was like he was making a dark joke about it in his usual deadpan style.

And Jordan has done things that has annoyed me , he's also hard to read.

Some parents , rather more than you’d expect, are in complete denial and will never admit their child is autistic ..

It’s very common sadly to the detriment of their child
