He took out his standing leg and the player hobbled out of the game

This amended the tackling rule that it’s not enough to just get the ball first and then take the man .. they have to tackle responsibly.

Sadly the officials have gone back to the seventies and anything goes

The difference is intent. Tackles are part of the game. Sometimes tackle are harder than others. There was no malice in the challenge. Unlike awfully rough and vicious teams like Spurs and Newcastle who want to break legs and shorten the careers of their opponents.

There doesn’t have to be malice or intent nowadays … they are not allowed to get the ball then carry on through the guy .

Ben White did one of those earlier on in the game

I think we can safely add Ali McCann to the thug’s charter

He’s just done one of the worst body check assaults ever on Dan James .

Pepe , Coufal and Joelinton would be proud

Nice to see 100% , purebred thugs like Joelinton and Lisandro Martínez on the sidelines for some time .. all the proper footballers will be giving a big sigh of relief , I’m sure.

Jurgen Klopp was baffled by the failure to award Liverpool an injury-time penalty as his final Premier League meeting with Pep Guardiola delivered another scintillating and controversial epic.

Jeremy Doku’s 98th-minute lunge on Alex Mac Allister went unpunished by referee Michael Oliver and was deemed fair by VAR Stuart Atwell, ensuring the title chasers shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

The master of dark arts

Mid air eye gouge — leaving Odegard on his knees in agony .. the ref unsurprisingly didn’t see anything wrong with the ‘challenge’

I give you …. Pepe

I don't know how nobody on the officiating team couldn't spot it, he has blatantly kicked him.:joker:
