I'll consult Niamh, see if she minds me doing one, or maybe she'd like to host?

Oh, missed this thread, 2nd place, yay. You can do it again if you want Kate

Well done Jake :clap2: thanks for running this Kate

I am baffled I was the only one who went for Last Christmas though for the 80s song. Away in a Manger also proved a very bad answer in the end

Do they Know it's Christmas was massive though because of the campaign around it and all the different artists who sang on it, it was a huge deal at the time worldwide, you're probably too young to remember it (probably weren't even born actually  ) when it came out though

'Probably' - yes just the nine years before I was born :idc:

That makes sense though, still thought a few more would go Wham as it was Christmas no. 1 again this year in the UK but I guess people don't really think about when it came out like they do with Band Aid

Who stands out for you or who’s faces are forever etched into your memory after repeat watchings ?

For me

George Michael , Bono , Boy George , Paul Young …

 I was only 6 when it came out but I remember it quite well (which is odd as i don't remember a lot from when I was that young)

It wasn't a number one in the 80s though.

True but the question was about Christmas no. 1s from the 1980s not in the 1980s so I didn't think that mattered too much
