Obviously he works in a very competitive environment so will be his natural instinct to win, unfortunately he was a tad gungho and took no prisoners.
As to Fern milking it, no way, the thump of her head was very audible.
She was very gracious in being concerned that Nikita didn’t blame himself as it was an accident.
Good on Nikita for saying he wouldn’t take part in that task anymore.

erm but he did?

No Smudge you are rewriting history they had to even up the teams and Louis put his hand up to drop out, someone said Nikita if you don't want to take part that is fine but he didn't want to give up the airtime :fist:

Agreed !!

It was more like a bit of a shock to be falling backwards at her age ( and size ) ..

Then she saw her opportunity to get even more sympathy … I’m amazed she didn’t turn on the tears again

Who said there was wood in the cushion !?
Those microphones pick up every little sound and amplify it …

I’d suggest that the vast majority of those cushiony things are just foam or sponge .

The real risk was running around jabbing pins into balloons ( or hands / arms )

Do you mean fun size, Zizu? ;)

Aaahhhh, here is me thinking Nikita was being a hero.
Uncape him immediately :fist:

Not all heroes wear capes.

Some just carry around teddy bears and dance with z-list celebs.

I don't think nikita considered the health of his opponents for 1 second

Just knocking an older person over is bad enough, let alone anything else.

If you were at the shops, would you just knock an older person over to get to your tin of beans?

Well she’s carrying a bit of timber plus she certainly can’t be labelled as nimble .. it’s understandable at her age of course..

That’s why it looked like a heavy fall ..

Then predictably she milked the situation dry

They are in a strange situation plus he’s a naturally competitive guy .. I’d say he just saw the balloon and didn’t think it was Fern who was in front of him

Still say she milked it.
It was before the eviction, she knew almost certainly that incident would get maximum showing

She's no fool.
She saw the chance and grabbed it with both hands.

In the diary room was able to throw her legs up and lie down.on her head.
If you've banged your head and it really hurt.
The last thing you could do was lie back on it.

She's very clever is Fern.

Yeah to me she milked it for all it's worth

the number of people blaming the victim is pretty crazy

Ammi 21-03-2024 02:11 PM

….for sure I feel his spirits were very overly high in consideration for others …Marisha was taken aback as well at how forceful it all became with him…just before Fern was knocked backward and well, it would have been to the ground if there hadn’t been one of the furniture fittings there…I imagine as well as any pain, she felt quite shocked as well …

She was unbalanced and took a tumble … if she was really hurt she would have a made even more of the situation than she did .. which was bad enough

Yes .. the shock would have a shook her for sure as I mentioned earlier

Can’t believe all the fuss considering she’s such a drama queen who milks every situation

nice old Fern could run.

Yeah and 66 isn't old these days. William Shatner 93 in a couple of days is still very active. I saw him on YouTube and he looked great. Looked like he'd dropped a few pounds, too.

Ammi 21-03-2024 02:16 PM

…I don’t see Fern as ‘milking situations’ …she processes things in her own way and with her own reasoning and emotions and that’s displayed in her actions/reactions…like everyone else…

Zizu 21-03-2024 02:19 PM

Fern and Nikita and ‘the head injury’…?…

Incidentally I’m in the vast majority who feel that Fern milked the situation !!

I’d say the only thing that hurt apart from her pride was MAYBE that plastic hair clip at the back of her head .

She’s devious and desperate to get back on telly … that’s how I see her

I think she’s been conniving though out this whole series

Just my take on things ..

…exactly, it’s only a personal perception and coming from us, rather than applying to her in any behaviour she’s displayed in a few hours of highlighted TV with its own direction…devious/desperate/conniving are pretty extremes of analysis imo but that’s entirely on you to use them and feel them…

Well it is clearly some form of hard moulding covered in a cushion...if it was foam or sponge you wouldnt have heard the noise of her head banging against something hard.

Bronzo 21-03-2024 03:06 PM

I’ve started to think he’s a bit over aware about how he could be perceived, almost similarly to Ekin su, except she was playing it terribly whereas Nikita is doing it well. First when he said that phrase and immediately panicked and went to the Diary Room to apologise to the public, to now the OTT reaction to Fern falling over. I do think he’s a nice guy but I think he’s a little too worried/concerned about public opinion that he doesn’t feel as real as he did at the beginning of the show.
