shot...cease to exist....both the same end game

both black women.

lets see, shall we?

David Tennant saying that he wants Kemi to "cease to exist in Politics" is not the same as a lunatic wanting Diane Abbott to be shot to death.

What's David Tennant's skin colour got to do with this?

If Kemi's shtick is to play the BLM card, then it won't wash with me, and I hope that it doesn't wash with Tennant, or anyone for that matter.

Mock get a grip what on earth are you on about?

The link to the article has been removed I think, so I haven't been able to listen to his comments.

If he did mean it the way that some of you think that he meant it then he needs to be arrested for inciting violence.

I however think that he meant that he wanted her to "cease to exist in politics" but he has worded it poorly.

But tbf I could be reading him wrong.

During his speech at the British "LGBT Awards", David Tennant told Tory
politician Kemi Badenoch to ‘shut up’ and hopes she does not exist tomorrow

If you go into the link here you can listen to him Mock

We could make excuses for the other guy as well saying he didnt mean that Diane Abbott should be shot but that he worded it poorly...these people need to engage brain before speaking, you could also argue the Tory Donor was in a room of 'friends' and not speaking publically like Tennant, women are enough danger from extreme trans activists without this guy popping up and saying we should cease to exist because we wont roll over and accept penises in womens spaces and sport

I think it's a lot harder for the guy to justify the Diane Abbott comment because he is even referencing the weapon of choice.

I will check the David Tennant video out now though, thanks for the link.:)

Mystic Mock 26-06-2024 06:53 AM

I've seen the video @Cherie

To me I'm still convinced that he worded it poorly, but I understand if you feel differently.

My two biggest gripes with him in that video was him having to keep pausing to think of what he wanted to say next, I mean if he is so genuinely pro-LGBT then he should have some broadstroke points that he wanted to make a little bit more off the cuff? Because I know that if I supported something so passionately as he is claiming, then he shouldn't need to think about what he is about to say quite as much as he is in that video.

And Transwomen do harm women's Sports, so straight away David Tennant's argument about "we shouldn't be having an issue with groups that aren't harming anybody else" is already destroyed the moment that I think about that topic.

And I do say that as someone that doesn't really have any other severe issues with the Trans community, tell a lie there was the Hogwarts Legacy drama, but away from those two things I am fine with the Trans community personally.

But for Tennant to not acknowledge how Trans athletes are robbing women of winning their own Sport events is very phony.

joeysteele 26-06-2024 06:57 AM

I'm not one who likes Kemi Badenoch.
She holds suspect views herself.

However David Tenant was wrong here in his chosen words he used.
I can agree with the view that this is what comes about when actors speak without a script.
The element of thinking rationally disappears.

I personally thought Tenant was one of the very best Doctors in Doctor Who.
However I often wish ALL celebrities who find themselves in more privileged settings of awards or other events publicly, would stick to their profession in speeches rather than make divisive issues worse .

David Tenant however to me, often sounds like a very angry individual even in his delivery of speeches.

…well, whatever the choice of and use of words, for me that’s just focusing on one aspect where differences and similarities can both be taken…but in so far as the ‘target’ of those words are aimed at…they’re both aimed at females who are hugely the victims of violence/violent acts and also of rape threats etc…the internet as we know can be a very horrendous place and some words being the ‘power’ are also very scary….i think as well, when people speak…David Tenant, for instance…?….the ‘comparison’ he doesn’t have to think any further than would be…how he would feel if someone said that about his wife…that they wished that she would cease to exist and she needs to shut up etc…./…just not a good look at all, really….

…and actually, his words will only make females feel less safe about sharing spaces etc, won’t they…his words go against everything he believes because they’re just feeding ‘male threat to female’…/…vibe….so silly, silly man…

I don't personally agree with David Tennant's comments.

I just don't believe that he meant it the way that it's coming across.

Exactly Ammi. It was all so unnecessary as well. He turned receiving that award into such a negative thing, his speech didn't need to attack people, he could have just focused on the community he's supporting rather than picking out individual women to target

…he didn’t have to mention anyone else in his own support of something…there is no reason to do that…there are people who hold his view and there are people who don’t but he singled one person out and made remarks that could have easily been deemed as ‘inciting violence’ in a very careless way….all we have is what he said and that’s all we can comment on…if his ‘intentions’ were something else then it’s for him to make that known publicly and then we can comment in that also…

Crimson Dynamo 26-06-2024 07:49 AM

the veil slipped and we saw once again the hateful misogyny of trans activism

how much more of this has to be shown before everyone sees what is going on?

Ammi 26-06-2024 07:53 AM

…I never really had any opinion of him before in any which way…but he just really looks very silly and rather than support his beliefs, he’s gone against them ….how can he help with people being confident that ‘shared spaces are safe spaces’….when he’s just said that a female needs to shut up and cease to exist, which is quite a hostile thing to say and is so open to interpretation of ‘violent’ inference…

Crimson Dynamo 26-06-2024 08:14 AM

Like so many captured leftists his speech contained the line “everyone has the right to be who they want to be and live their life how they want to live it as long as they’re not hurting anyone else” – while displaying none of those values towards anyone who dares to challenge his opinion.

I'm sure that he'll do some sort of PR stated apology over the next few days.

And unfortunately, Actors more than anyone these days have been taught to say every political thought that comes to mind (especially of the left persuasion,) and I do think that in David Tennant's bid to try and look good with the Trans community, he instead worded something else in a way that can come across as encouraging criminal conduct towards not just a woman, but also someone that has different political beliefs to himself, which obviously is never a good look for anyone (ask Putin.)

I think that he should've thought about what he was going to say more carefully about Kemi Bodenach, rather than trying to appease a community that already highly respects him.

I still believe that he isn't like the guy threatening Diane Abbott, but it was definitely poorly thought out in my view.

He did fail to factor in how female athletes are being hurt in their own Sports by including Transwomen in their events, he just completely overlooked it when he made that comment.

Now that ironically annoyed me far more.

Livia 26-06-2024 09:10 AM

I hope David Tennant's career ceases to exist tomorrow.

Beso 26-06-2024 09:11 AM

Actors will say and do anything to get the round of applause..Tennants just another in a long line of sycophants

Gusto Brunt 26-06-2024 09:30 AM

Yes no need to be personal, Mr Tennant but you are looking too lean in my view and a bit more wrinkled. :p

I'd be surprised if he did do any sort of apology tbh. This sort of misogyny is almost encouraged in the media these days

I love when people who claim to hate everything about ‘identity politics’ fall directly into the hardest form of it when they face criticism for their actions, ideas and policies, she couldn’t care less when someone giving her money wanted to shoot another black woman in politics, yet someone saying they want her to shut up because she’s a bigot is suddenly the most egregious offence because she’s specifically a black woman, even though her gender or her race were never mentioned, it’s a beautiful full circle of hypocrisy

I am also pondering the choice of words on his T Shirt, 'You will have to go through me' .....
