The distinction is needed - some people group trans-men in with women. Some other people group trans-women in with women. By specifying "cis women" and "everyone else", it's the shortest way to be clear and say what I mean.

Why can't we just say biological, I don't use the term 'cis'.

I refuse to use a label generated for me when I don't need one. I am a woman. Trans women are trans women.

One comeback I've heard to that term is "of course I'm a biological woman, I'm not a robotic woman!"

Whereas using cis (which you might notice I put in inverted commas) makes it clear, and the only confusion or comeback is people complaining about the term.

For clarity I'm not thrilled with the use of the word, but it doesn't actively annoy me.

Whenever I hear those words, I genuinely start to worry that I'm listening to a member of a cult nowadays.

It's like when I hear the right wing abuse the words "woke" and "Paedophile."

All it is is a persecution against the innocent and non sexually depraved trans people by using a list of offenders in an attempt to tar all with the same brush.
