…just think, Nicky…you’re blocking people out in defence of and to defend someone who raped a child …(…and no, they haven’t served their prison time…that’s one of the specifics about his case in particular….)…but still they’re chosen to represent their country in ‘excellence’…I’ll leave you to your day…

…it’s probably best not to post in a thread were the title and vein is ‘problems with…..’…then, Nicky…because that would indicate negativity and you thanked Arista for putting those problems in a separate thread…it seems like a good plan, doesn’t it..so as not to divert other threads designated to the sporting events themselves etc…?…

…but if you go into a thread that has ‘problems at…’ in the title and then you put all posters on ignore because they list a problem or highlight a problem or discuss a problem etc as they see it…?…then that seems silly and complicated…the simpler way is to just not enter the thread and leave everyone off ignore…problem solved/positive outcome…and keeps forum communication ticking along…

some really keep fishing to complain about everything 24/7

Aye not wanting a child rapist to compete is definitely political

Have you actually read back any of your posts and realise you might actually be a wrong’un?

my opinions are my own

but i do kinda agree about Van de Velde competing being highly controversial yes, however our committee and the broadcaster never lets themselves get too biased by whats been on the news

Nicky91 30-07-2024 07:45 AM

steven van de velde will get his well deserved karma losing of his matches hopefully :fc:

that is more fun than ruling him out of these olympics, him making a fool of himself :joker:

The River is still full of E.Coli
not easy for the French to clean a large river.

By now Events were meant to start

He is a Paedophile, Nicky.

This isn't some petty Political issue, this is something that nobody should come back from if they cross that line.

Controversially, if the victim had've been 15, I might have thought that maybe he mistook her age (which can happen tbf,) but nobody can say that a 12 year old looks 18 or above, there's very different body types going on without going too deep into it.

He is a sick freak, and Beach Volleyball and the Netherlands should both be ashamed that they've allowed him to compete at this year's Olympics.

Problems at the Olympics Paris 2024

The biggest problems apart from the drug cheats and the blokes competing in the women’s events with the Olympics is the scheduling and actually finding the events on TV

We have BBC 1 and 2 , BBC iPlayer , EuroSport 1 & 2 plus Discovery+ and I am still missing key events

some live events aren't on eurosport 1 or 2, but are on separate eurosport streams which you need hbo max for

Sadly the app isn’t user friendly

That sounds user friendly .. Discovery+ and the BBC i Player are both poorly set up as regards the Olympics

It seems very odd to see China heading the table for Golds …I grew up watching an extremely dominant USA .

Now they are winning golds in events they weren’t even competent in years ago

Its all very suspicious and intensely unsettling

After the medley event on Monday, Team GB's Adam Peaty opened fire on the Chinese team, saying "there's no point winning if you're not winning fair".
Swim legend Michael Phelps, who has been vocal about doping issues, also doubled down: "If you test positive, you should never be allowed to come back and compete again, cut and dry. I believe one and done," he told the Associated Press news agency.

Also this ..

6 August 2024
"Any doubt is just a joke. Stress only makes us stronger," Qin Haiyang - a part of China's history-making men’s 4x100m medley quartet posted after their unprecedented victory over the US on Monday.
Qin's seeming defiance came at the tail end of what has been a challenging time for China in the pool.
Some of the country's top swimmers - including Qin and his relay teammate Sun Jiajun- have faced a slew of doping allegations, followed by contentious US claims that the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) was covering it up.
They were among 23 Chinese swimmers who returned positive doping tests ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
And although Chinese swimmers have been drug-tested twice as much as some other nations this year before heading to Paris, their performance has been met with scepticism.
