i myself would be the biggest backstabber contestant this show has ever seen

in reality: i'd be very strategic for my alliance, i am not scared to sacrifice any weak links in my team tbh

A good variety.

Yes, someone young like 18, and someone very old like 70, who is always rubbing up people the wrong way.

Gay, bi, trans, straight - I don't mind. As long as they argue. :D :joker:

I wish they'd put in older housemates ... and i mean older than 50.

It would be a really interesting dynamic if 60,70 or even 80 year old's were in the house.... as long as they're abled bodied and still have all their faculties to pass on wisdom . It would be really good viewing.

It's boring putting in pure youngsters who have barely gone through life experiences, who are still immature.

…(..it was the celebrity version…)…but one of the best combinations for me was Leslie Jordan and Frenchy and that type of personality rub would be great for the civilian one as well…

Nicky91 25-08-2024 04:19 PM

i'd most connect with a POC and preferably a young female POC

those contestants tend to be the most devoted to the gameplay

and i like gossiping behind people's backs ;)

yeah wisdom  and those who lay on the sofa 24/7 in that house :joker:

Rob here in my nation's version last year :fan: whom had the ''excuse'' to not compete in games because of his back problems all the time

or Lenie this year in my nation, a complete moron who pushed on the red button with his foot even though they told him not to, how he bought their luggage for 20.000 out of the prize pot

our younger contestants have much maturity though

Jason was well loved by majority of the fans here, although he didn't win as Bart was the first flemish winner who came across just that tiny bit more likeable, sympathetic as a paratrooper commando and the father figure in the house

or this year with Alice, only 19 yrs young and the most mature among the women in the house, also didn't win because Glenn was the second flemish winner, whom wanted to win to spend the prize pot on marrying his girlfriend

Casting this show now has to be a lot trickier than it was back in the early days. Housemates know the fame, social media following and "five minutes of fame" they'll get from the show. Every season since early-mid 2010's housemates have been discussing social media when they're sitting around. Add in the political-correctness and the "we can't offend" anyone attitude that's rife these days... it just doesn't make good TV. Unfortunately (fortunately?) before all this started, that's what made the show so entertaining.

The network is now scared of the complaints Ofcom will get if they allow this behaviour, or air it.

That being said, we need housemates that are unfiltered and not on social media (there must be SOME) and also remove the Barbie Malibu Beach House/Disney throw up design style from the house and I think it could stand a chance. Also, BRING BACK THE SMOKING AREA.

ITV has started really over-doing the musical montages which makes it a cut and copy of shows like Love Island. Back to basics means back to basics - that includes casting, house design and editing.

my prediction (age group wise)

1 (19 yr old, youngest housemate of the bunch)
4 in their 20's
4 in their 30's
2 in their 40's
2 in their 50's
1 in their 60's
1 in 70's (oldest housemate of the bunch)

pretty sure they wanna make it as diverse as possible, to reel in as many age group demographics in terms of viewers

i can also see a twist coming like the youngest and oldest contestants creating teams for certain challenges

I put the Wiki stats Into a spreadsheet and the average age is 27.27 of all the contestants Ever. The oldest contestant in the United States Was 75, from what I can see, in the UK, the oldest is 56. CBB Lionel Blair was 85.

Folk who have jobs like postman, supermarket worker, etc. The influences can just go on the celeb version.
I do think they did allright last series.
Would like someone Irish, Scottish and Welsh.
Maybe something of a BB9 vibe.

Beastie 13-09-2024 07:21 PM

Someone who is outdoorsy and likes ultra marathon running.

Beastie 13-09-2024 07:25 PM

No twists on the first night. Let the housemates get to know each other then start nominations a few days after. Let just be organic!

However I think they need a better mix of people. There was too much dead weight last time with the likes of Zach, Jenkin, Paul, Matty, Noky, Chanelle and Tom. We’re always going to get a couple of deadweight housemates. I liked some of them but when half the cast is dead weight it gets a bit much.

Weirdly, at the time I didn’t like Kerry but I can remember quite a bit about her time in the house, same for Hallie.

Zach was lovely. A big ball of positive energy. Probably was his gameplan. Proper **** he was up against Henry.

Beastie 13-09-2024 07:29 PM

Put a wealthy old person in there.

Alf 13-09-2024 07:34 PM

It's not coming back is it?

Jesus wept

Weren't there Housemates that were talking about Black Lives Matter as well?:umm2:

Which being brutally honest, it doesn't make for good TV.

A steam punk-themed house would also be quite the scene.
