But he's being a bit full of it then & a little selfish, anyone would think there's only room for 1 dwarf actor in Hollywood...which is ridiculous.

People like Warwick Davis came long before him anyway, and they didn't try putting other actors off certain roles.

I agree with you about Warwick Davis.

But my impression of Davis is that he is more down to earth and humble anyway if I'm to try and base it off interviews etc.

Oh I don't mean it that Rachel Zegler is ugly.

It's just Gal Gadot is extremely attractive imo.

I think the main "point" of Snow White, surely, is that it doesn't matter how physically beautiful the Queen is, she will never be as "fair and wonderful" as Snow White because Snow White is also "fair in her spirit" while the Evil Queen is... well... "evil"... or rather, a narcissist. Which makes her "lesser" no matter what she does. Hence her frustration.

The thread of the story is not, as some might have us believe, about someone who is "extremely caucasian" :joker:.

…I’d like to think that she wasn’t always a narcissist…and that she had good qualities as well but she sadly became a victim of her vanity…maybe she didn’t have enough self belief to realise that beauty wasn’t just on the surface and wasn’t confident enough to allow for many equal beauties and not just one that was ‘the most fair…’…although, she does seem like a confident person tbh……we can never tell with these things, though…they can be very deceiving…

Perhaps, the mirror telling her these things every day twisted her psychology, making her think it was the most important thing anyone could be... ... "YOU'RE the best" said the mirror every day... and then one day, it said "Nah this girl YOUNG ENOUGH TO BE MY DAUGHTER is better looking than you actually" and she just snapped.

The true villain of Snow White is the mirror itself... representing intrusive subconscious vanity, deep-rooted insecurity, and the battle of ego vs aging?

We're so deep, Ammi.

…yeah, I do think that the mirror has some responsibility as well…because it encouraged that ‘believing your own hype…’…thing, which can lead to being a very dangerous thing and the evil queen story displays that perfectly…?…the mirror was maybe a bit like a social media platform that carried fake news in telling her that she was the fairest…and then when she realised the fairness of it and that she wasn’t, well….she just kind of flipped and became the most hateful person …and the target of her hate being Snow White, the new up and coming influencer…and actually her beauty wasn’t fake news, it was real…and yeah, the evil queen was triggered, though…and there’s no stopping a triggered evil queen who believed her own hype…?….

…yeah man, so deep, man….

I'm doing well thanks.

I'm mainly just thinking about a couple of big dates coming up for my family over the next few months, it's a bit hectic, but somehow we'll pull it off.:joker:

They say at the end, "They all lived happily ever after..." ... but actually ... 30 years later, Snow White has fallen into exactly the same trap as the Evil Queen, there's a new kid on the block, and the Prince (now the King) has a WhatsApp full of dick pic exchanges with 20 year old boys :worry:.

Snow White 2: Happily Never After

Nicky91 12-08-2024 12:25 PM

i mean Hugh Grant played an oompa loompa in Wonka, and he isn't an actor with dwarfism? Hugh played that exceptionally well too, and i'm no Hugh Grant fan normally

the grumpy actor here is an actor with dwarfism though

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Klebba

whom already has experience in a previous snow white tv movie from 2001 too btw

Nicky91 12-08-2024 12:32 PM

i wonder if Gal Gadot was inspired by Angelina Jolie to take on a disney character

i mean Jolie also does a stunning job with the Maleficent films

i personally Gal a stunning casting for the role of Evil Queen, very versatile actress what she is

…I guess this is why it’s one of those tales as old as time as the cycle continues…different time/different fairest of the land young lady…same evil witch in the end, though…it’s the curse of Disney…

I can't wait for the prequel Disney+ series where we find out that the Evil Queen was once a fresh-faced and idealistic young princess just looking for her own prince -- before being corrupted by the manipulative mirror demon.

Honestly Ammi, Disney should just hire us.

Oliver_W 12-08-2024 12:48 PM

It looks quite good and fairytale-like.

I probably won't see it as I watched the original about a zillion times as a kid, and I'm still sick of it now despite not having seen it in YEARS

…..you looney…but maybe that’s a thought, Disney meets BB Snow White Version…’you are the fairest…’ quote being replaced with…’You better know yourself little girl before you talk about (to) me….’….its a version worth some thought…

please let Giancarlo Esposito make his comeback as the Mirror (he's the GOAT for that role, after his slayage in Once Upon a Time) :fc:

I don't understand why a traditional European fairy tale - Snow White is a German story - that features a girl called Snow White "because her skin was a white as snow" has a Latino girl in the lead role. They've already moved the Danish Little Mermaid to the Caribbean. Meanwhile, a live action version of Moana features Catherine Laga'aias of Samoan heritage because they wouldn't dare cast a black girl or a white girl for that. I wouldn't expect a traditional African story to feature an Asian actor or a traditional Indian story to feature a white actor. So why is it acceptable to blind cast traditional European fairy tales but be true to heritage when a story comes from outside Europe?

in all fairness, Caribbean fits Little Mermaid quite well

and as for Moana, well overall it is hawaiian, but honestly Samoan culture is not hugely different to hawaiian culture

Nicky91 14-08-2024 12:44 PM

they keep Snow White as traditional as possible though

same traditional yellow dress, same hair style as from the original

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/wp...6&h=730&crop=1

even the dwarfs are styled the same as in the original animated classic

yes one of the dwarfs is an actor with dwarfism, but the others are cast similar to Hugh Grant's casting as the oompa loompa in wonka, edited with CGI, not all actors with dwarfism feel something for this role

same how they made Imelda Staunton a small fairy in Maleficent films through usage of CGI (whom played that stunningly well too)

Nicky91 20-08-2024 01:30 PM

i personally might be in a minority but i just gotta hand it to production to pull off these visuals stunningly perfect compared to the classic

i also think this is getting criticism because of Rachel Zegler's entitledness and hating on the classic, which she shouldn't have done tbh, the classic was done a way long time ago, and everyone is perfectly entitled to have their own version of Snow White as long as it more or less looks the same

the CGI Dwarves is a little disappointment not to use actual people but come on in todays world, we got a lot of CGI usage everywhere basically, it's almost like become normal in todays film & tv industry

Mystic Mock 20-08-2024 10:20 PM

The CGI use on the Dwarves looks a bit creepy tbh.
