You want to force him to do something he doesn’t doesn’t want to under the fear of losing his job, so yes you want him to bend the knee, he doesn’t have to sing the national anthem and people like you demanding that everybody does are the reason more and more people are seeing the light and refusing to do so

No. You are wrong. I just told you clearly I don't want him to bend the knee? Don't tell me how my own mind works!

I'm not demanding that EVERYBODY does at all. You're twisting my words. What I am saying us that in that position, as manager, it's appropriate that HE does.

Bend the knee as in fold to intimidation and do something he doesn’t agree with against his will, not physically bend the knee, which is literally what you’re suggesting should happen to him, either he goes against his beliefs and his freedoms or he should lose his job because weirdos hate people not singing a stupid song

Cherie 07-09-2024 05:41 PM

Half the decent England players have Irish roots 😎

Because his Granny or his Mum was Irish maybe. He was born in England. Declan Rice and Jack Grealish both played for RO Ireland now they play for England. You don't have to take up citizenship.

I'm a weirdo? I don't hate him not singing the song at all. Did I say that? I don't think so. In my opinion he's just being arrogant, it's lip service, it won't kill him to sing for two minutes? He doesn't have to mean it. Fgs.

He is as English as they come

If you can point to Dublin on a map the Irish will snap you up to play for them

Ironically Declan Rice and Jack Grealish have made it 2-0 at half time

:joker:

Must be the luck of the Irish!

Soz, didn't see this post before I posted almost the same thing above.

Yes, you want to force him to do something he doesn’t want to do or risk losing his job, that’s weird, he doesn’t have to sing a song to be a football manager, it’s ridiculous

It's part and parcel of the job, he must have known that. If he feels that strongly he shouldn't have taken the job then? He wants the money and the privilege. Again I'm not at all saying that all people should sing but I don't get the hardship of paying lip service for two minutes. Saying he's too busy is total bollocks.

Quite right Kate

An English manager if the national team not singing the national anthem is disgusting

You can disagree but you’re factually incorrect, nowhere in his contract will there be a provision that he has to sing the national anthem, his job is football manager, not plastic patriot

Don't be so pedantic. Its common sense that it's expected. It doesn't need to be in a contract.

He is from Birmingham.

He only played for ROI because he wasn't good enough to play for England.

And I'm saying this as someone that does like Lee Carsley, although I'm not sure about him being the England Manager.

Nope afraid not. Look, he wants the money and the kudos of the position. I hope he turns out to be a good manager. I have nothing against him. But it's foolish.

Yes it’s incorrect, if you want him to lose his job for not singing a silly song, then singing the silly song should be in the contract he signs, since it’s not, he has every right, or should have anyway, to not sing the song without royalists and weirdos wanting him sacked for not doing so, he wants the job of managing a football team, the job isn’t to sing it’s to coach, which he’ll do

I haven't once said I want him to lose his job :conf:

You do you. I'm not arguing the toss with you any further. Yawn.

Appalling. A really bad example to set. Replace him.

Your second post in this thread you literally say ‘replace him.’ :joker:

Do try and keep up with your own nonsense

Ok. Fair enough, you got me on that one. I've gone back and edited my post.

Just to add, what I've said throughout the thread has been my opinion. I'm not claiming it as gospel.

Mystic Mock 07-09-2024 06:57 PM

I want Carsley and the England National team to sing Dream On by Aerosmith.

Including the famous scream.:joker:
