Isn't a Father who's actively looking after his child meant to be a good masculine trait?

Obviously not that much if he’s celebrating Halloween.

Again and again, I know and I know that gay and bisexual men come in all different shapes, sizes and can be from any walk of life, be-they your average builder Joe, your Atlanta rapper on the down-low, your lecturer, your scally lads and your calculating businessmen. Whoever. Whatever. The only difference between them and other blokes is the fact that they like other blokes sexually. You absolutely can’t always (or even most of the time, most-probably) tell someone’s sexuality in how they behave but certain signs are suggestive of being on the LGBT spectrum and I do see a bir of that with Shegz. I’m not boxing him into a pigeon-hole by any means but it’s just the way he talks and his mannerisms sometimes. There’s a bit of camp affectation to it sometimes. That’s all where I’m coming from. I’m not making generalisations. I’m just pointing out what I occasionally observe in Shegun, and I mustn’t be the only one. It’s not even about masculinity (which to an extent is a social construct and one that varies in certain fundamental ways over time). I just find that camp lisping very, very suggestive. It doesn’t sound like just speech-impediment lisping. Not to me.

These so called men are more feminine than their partners

Skinny twig like men

It's the same as calling women that showed even the smallest masculine trait a lesbian.

I'll be honest I did wonder about Makensy off the last American BBUSA.

But then she had an odd infatuation with her Brother, so unfortunately I might be wrong.

I'm just kidding, I don't think that Makensy would really hookup with her Brother.

of course he is a zealot, that's why he always has that unnatural smile on his face all the time

I do feel sorry for the neutered types, where all traces of masculinity has been forcibly removed from them.

But I don't personally believe that a Father having his baby strapped to him, is something to call emasculated basically.

To me it shows that he is a caring Dad, which I view as someone that is mature and has a trait that the Wife is also looking for in her Husband.

I was making a light-hearted joke so I didn't go into a rant about how snowflakey it is to judge someone's masculinity on how they carry their child. :wavey:

There’s a tendency to tonal camp in the way he talks (and not just because of his lisp) but it happens only occasionally rather than all the time.

…gosh, that’s an awful lot of pressure and ‘requirement’ to put on someone, Redway…to have that box tick of who they are…’ok, you don’t meet all of the requirements of you, so we’re going to put you on the pending pile for the moment’…I mean, I’m not entirely serious in that wording I know…but what it’s essentially saying is…that more masculinity is required please otherwise we won’t accept your sexuality…(…and what relevance is it whether anyone does or not…)…but then, oh Marcello…that’s too much masculinity…so now you’re on the toxic pile…honestly, it’s is society not judgemental enough without this type of stereotyping and pondering who someone would be attracted to…

I've looked up the meaning of religious zealot and he bares no traits that are associated with it

It’s called not being afraid to have an opinion that might offend others

Some men run towards the screams
Some men run away from them
I’m happy knowing which way I run.

The uncomfortable truth is that people are always going to stereotype.

I don't think that Redway is asking this in a malicious way either, I just think that he has a hunch on Segun's sexuality, and he is curious to know if other people feel the same.

I personally don't see the issue with that, but I understand if anyone feels differently.

UserSince2005 01-11-2024 08:50 AM

defo gay, already called it how it is in another thread. i have the best gaydar, its never wrong.

…yeah I completely understand and agree that there is no malicious in Redway…that isn’t a suggestion at all…but when someone has indicated their sexuality specifically, which Segun has…it’s not something we generally would question either in terms of having a ‘hunch’….oh, you got that wrong, Segun…you’re not heterosexual, actually…do you see…?…

I get what you're saying, and personally I wouldn't do it.

But I feel like this thread for Segun is more respectful in comparison to some people keep saying that Ali fancies Marcello or Khaled.

…I’m not sure how ‘respectful’ could/would be applied to an unnecessary questioning of someone’s stated sexuality tbh…and the questioning has no foundation/relevance, anyway…and yeah, questioning wat Ali has stated is ‘equal’…not more than or less than…anyway, I’m so on the drag as I have to be somewhere so I’ll have to leave it all here…

I like that this thread is having a poll attached to it, so that we can all have our say as well.

I feel like the Ali being "secretly straight" stuff gets stated as a fact, which I just personally don't like.

See you later Ammi, I hope that you have a great day.:wavey:
