Aye.
But I have a full on kidney infection.
I also have kidney failure so it can run away with me quite quickly.
Antibiotics should for now until they test what exactly the type is.
I always give stuff awhile to see if it will go on its own. Then get a little lecture from the doc.

Thanks Niamh.
I think I should have kept it to myself, but I felt really Ill-this past 10 days or so
Not looking for a pity party though.
Hubby struggles to talk about it all with me at times so TIBB is my little venting ground.

…you’re getting the antibiotics, which as you say are fighting the infection for now and keeping it more stabilised while the tests are done…you know your stuff as well as the medical staff do so hopefully you’ll be that great patient that they need you to be right now……while the antibiotics do their thing and the medical team do theirs…?…you just rest and sleep and let that healing happen for you……

…yeah, I get that…that it’s difficult for him to talk and he obviously always tries to stay strong for you as well…the strength of emotion can be quite a feared thing, eh…you have a great guy, though…from everything you say…and that’s no small thing either…

…the good thing about how we watch TV now is that you can catch up whenever you’re feeling up to it and in small bitesize bits or whichever way fits in with the smudgie way…

Sorry to hear that Ceecee, have you talked to your Doctor about it?

I did. I've been holding it off but finally went ahead and started some anti depressants.

This is true. I've heard some say life stopped in 2019, everything else is a blur.

Before Covid I felt as though I would live till 100 … and then came Covid and all those dreadful scenes of people dying in corridors and temp carparks ..

Being male of a certain age I went to work terrified each and every day for about 18 months - it also left shattered my feeling of invincibility..

Oh gosh I can imagine that it must've been so traumatic seeing all that first hand right in the height of it. How are you these days? That's something that one doesn't recover from easily of course but how are you coping these days?

Not good .. still very stressed and anxious but I keep busy volunteer gardening / forestry work in the local park / woods — and a nearby animal sanctuary … healing is painfully slow

I shouldn’t get into so many disagreements in here really as the stress just drags me to places I don’t want to be .. but due to being on the spectrum plus being/having ADHD I can’t stop myself ..

…it’s/it was a big thing to go through and one that we just hadn’t foreseen and prepared for…and I think that it’s also not feeling that we somehow have to be that same person …it’s ok to feel that we’re changed by it in some ways…but to try not to let those changes transfer and become anxieties and fears, you know…because now you’re someone who has got through a pandemic …as humans, I think we can become very change averse to changes that we hadn’t ourselves decided and prepared for …and anxieties still prey on that to try to control because that’s what anxieties and fears etc do…it’s about trying to take each one at a time and dissolving it/dealing with it until they just don’t have any power over you…when we’ve had such a life knock as COVID and lived in fear for our families/friends etc and been isolated from them…it’s baby steps, to get back on track, you know…but that track won’t necessarily be the same continued track as before….its also an opportunity to look at any changes we feel and to mould them into positives if we can….

I keep wondering about getting involved helping out at local food kitchens.. I despair at the thought of so many living rough nearby ( especially with winter coming)

I worry that I may become emotionally attached somehow and get more stressed/ anxious by getting so closely involved with them ..

…if it’s something that you’re feeling drawn to, then look into it…don’t worry about ‘what ifs’…what if you become emotionally attached…because those what ifs are there to disable us and prevent us…they don’t want us to be our own masters, they want that control for themselves…that bridge of becoming overly attached etc is one that will be crossed if it presents itself and then you’ll look at it and deal with it at the time…

It does feel like it sometimes.

Although 2016 and 2023 are two other periods for me where I have found myself in a really dark place.

I'm still currently in the 2023 one, hopefully I'll bounce out of it like I always do.

Fingers crossed … I find that listening to happy pop music helps but you can’t force it sadly

I go through long , dark periods then suddenly I’ll hear an uptempo, catchy pop song and I suddenly feel much better.. it just has to happen though . I can’t just play a happy tune and “ hey presto ! “
