Looks like the opposite to being cancelled, by be promoted.

It's old White men like Roy chubby Brown that get cancelled.

Nobody.

But they want her to be, because of something she said, which goes against everything they believe. But because she is a black woman she doesn't deserve to be employed in an advert because they got offended at words she used.

Wanting to and actually taking action in doing so are different.

No wonder Boots is closing all its stores with idiots in charge who thought "yes this is a good idea"

Yes, that's why I said "don't believe in cancel culture".

You can't cry about cancel culture being bad and then simultaneously advocate for it because they took offence to something someone said.

Also creating a 12 minute video and posting it to 200k followers is sort of taking action but I digress.

Not because she is a black woman. Because she insulted the royals and the public alike. I hold her in as low esteem as I held the white woman on the same couch who enthusiastically agreed with her. This woman has not been marginalised because if her race, far from it. She's played a regency duchess on TV, of which, in reality, there were none, she's played countless white historical figures including Richard III. As a black actress she has not been short of opportunities so why she would shoot herself in the foot by insulting the royals, on TV, on coronation day is quite beyond me.

It's not because she's black. It's because she is rude, thoughtless, entitled and tactless.

I think the problem stems from far-left leaning organisations actually cancelling people like comedians. And non-far left leaning people then speaking out for the freedom to do their comedy routine of that said comedian, then those that do speak out, they get labelled with insults.

We didn't start the fire.

It's because she had an opinion they didn't agree with and because she is black. I didn't agree with her opinion also, I kind thought it was a little racist.

But I truly believe that if she was white and said something in a similar vein, and then people objected to her being employed, Dan Wooten would be one of the first people whining about cancel culture.

looks like the only work she can get now are adverts for failing shops that sell perfume

quite the fall from grace...

I am absolutely fine with people calling out cancel culture. I don't agree with it. However it's the hypocrisy in that here they are advocating for the very thing they so vehemently disagree with. That's the issue I have. I actually agree that cancel culture is extremely problematic.

Her "opinion" became Ofcom's most complained about TV moment of 2024.

Put objectionable Katie Hopkins in a Christmas ad, see whether she's any better received because she's white. I doubt it.

Or Dan Wooten doing a Reggie Reggie sauce advert.

That would actually be diverse.

Urgh... I am not saying she would be better received. But when she isn't, who do you think the first people would be to complain about the backlash? People like Dan and Peter. 100% guaranteed.

And in any case, I think you will find her opinion was Ofcom's 2nd most complained about moment of 2023. Guess who was the 1st?

bots 12-11-2024 04:24 PM

the only adverts i see are when BB is on and i tend to zone out while they are on, so no outrage over here.

It is pretty simple to avoid adverts these days

Liam- 12-11-2024 04:25 PM

Crying because black people on tv, let’s try and keep racism out of Christmas at least shall we lads and lasses

Glenn. 12-11-2024 04:32 PM

Snowflakes definitely living up to their name this festive season

bots 12-11-2024 04:37 PM

the other thing is that CD, by creating this thread has increased their ROI so, ponder that
