I put them in the toaster .. two or three times ..
then fry for a minute in hot lard / beef dripping to add some flavour ..

Never tried that frying method but I like the sound of it! I did toast them once when short on time but I generally like them pretty well cooked so do it in the oven

We didn't have school dinners, everyone brought packed lunches but the teachers always had something to give people who forgot their lunches or who never had lunches

We used to get milk time at school. 15 minutes to drink your free half pint of milk.

I remember... that was my favourite, alongside a kind of treacle tart topped with cornflakes. Will look in Aldi. Today.

…when school desserts started to be more fruit options, the one that the children mourned the loss of most was the caramel tart…

…I can’t recall having them very much tbh…but when the boys had friends around for tea, they did like to have the alphabet ones …and potato smileys were always a thing in school dinners if I recall…

It resizes automatically on phones. :idc:

I’m not sure why it doesn’t do that for computer users.

Not as good as it used to be when i was a kid. But mixed with a big of garlic pepper, paprika and butter, still not bad. Goes great with some chicken sausage and peas, and gravy

Used to eat this stuff neat as a kid and teen (well, plain i mean, i did mix it with water first) :joker:
