…oh yeah, it’s not a criticism against Danny in any way, just that I wasn’t reading anything deeper into it atm…I liked David and Kate’s take on it all on the later show when they didn’t take any of it seriously either and just brushed it off…

Crimson Dynamo 09-04-2025 11:36 AM

When Daley said that and then they cut to Danny I am not even sure if that was his actual reaction I Think it was cut in to make it look like he had been taken aback

Manipulation

Those supposedly trying to eradicate prejudice are always desperate to find it anywhere, even where it doesn't exist, and naturally respond with hated and utter contempt.

…that’s not something that applies to this, though …or to Danny…?…they did say that they were going to try even more to find a place of bonding/understanding with Daley…it’s very easy for something to be taken in a way that it wasn’t intended but it’s how it progresses from there, isn’t it…and so far we haven’t seen how that will all be…

Nah, i think Danny is a really nice bloke, excellent ambassador for Drag Queens and the Drag community as a whole, he's open to getting to know anyone in there. I was more referring to social media. Daley wearing the Real Women's Day t-shirt is doing the rounds on X atm.

vesavius 09-04-2025 12:00 PM

Honestly, I don't like Danny much... I don't know him at all because I generally don't enjoy drag much... But his energy is nasty.

But I am not a fan of his kind of arch camp bitch queen type persona, to be fair., and I hate all this 'I am here to educate people'... As if people that disagree with him are just doing so because they are 'ignorant'.

But even with that in mind... Daley did nuthin wrong.

lol who would have thought, some will swoop on anything as vindication that they are victims of something or other

I would like to see Daly and Danny have a conversation about transwomen in womens sport, I wonder if ITV would have the balls to show it

Crimson Dynamo 09-04-2025 12:02 PM

Danny last night responding to the MP for Syrup of Figs

MP "I can be myself"

Beard "that's all you can be, just be yourself"

with a facemask on, fake hair and a silly panto dress :joker:

Id be interested to see him when all that stuff is taken off and he stops playing a character and starts being himself

…ahh ok, I wasn’t sure if you meant coming from Danny, which I didn’t see…but yeah…I hadn’t really known anything Daley has said until i see it now with his name coming up on ‘trending’…I still haven’t looked at any of the articles though and have no idea what his view are, other than anything specified in headlines…

vesavius 09-04-2025 12:08 PM

Look, the bottom line is that drag is not the same as trans. People conflate the two constantly. You can think, for example, that biological men should be kept out of women's sports and still enjoy a good drag show.

I am sure Danny would 100% agree that he is not a real woman.

But we're still required to refer to him as "she".

Well, I will respect a person's wishes if I respect and like them no matter what I personally think, but as soon as I am being 'required' to do a thing by someone I don't think much of I tend to say no :P

But, yeah.. Current 'progressive' ideological thinking is full of contradictions and nonsense.

Can't disagree with that.

Perfectly within your rights to say I recognise your request and I politely decline

BB saying that last night was ridiculous

OnTheRight 09-04-2025 12:25 PM

I think it's Danny who has the problem.

'She' when he is drag, 'he' when he isn't...

We are supposed to treat his drag persona as a person with a separate gender? What type of insanity even is that?

So if I put a frock on people have to address me as a she? Stop the world......

Ammi 09-04-2025 12:41 PM

…I don’t think that anyone is required to do anything with regards to drag queens…I recall in Courtney Act’s season, the question was asked directly to them from housemates…and they said that the general thing was ‘she’ as Courtney Act and ‘he’ as Shane …and that’s something that drag queens to get asked specifically but there is no requirement…

Yeah, I was always under the impression that Drag Queens refer to themselves as "she" while in drag as more a part of the act and for fun/to be in character kind of a thing? I don't think these men (or most of them anyway) would care if someone still said he though?

I wouldn't have thought so as they are playing a part, they are still a He at the end of the day

…no, I don’t think that any would care on the whole…(…there will always be some that do, I guess…)…but I recall that I would always refer to Dame Edna as she when she was Dame Edna for instance…and Lily Savage had always been a she to me as well but equally a he as Paul O’Grady…that’s always just felt natural…in mainstream TV there are obviously more drag queens now because of Ru Paul’s show and I often seen that question put as to how to refer to them…it was interesting to see Courtney Act/Shane talk about it back in the day…
