Love a pint of Stella. Comes in a nice chalice as well

It used to be 5.2% which is probably why it became known as wife beater booze but it's only 4.6% now

It’s a shame too many men who drink can’t be trusted. Because speaking of chalices, there’s this whole thing about beer-mugs (like the tankard) not being allowed to be sold anymore. Just in-case some tapped dude who’s had too many uses the handle to make a mark on someone. Toxic masculinity and the particular flavour of irresponsible drinking that comes from that now influences the type of glasses beer’s allowed to be sold in, and it’s ridiculous.

I drink Stella but I much prefer the unfiltered ones with the green label. It’s 5.0% and tastes like how Stella used to taste years ago before it got weaker. I need to find a pub that sells it on tap.

I’ll drink the original Stella still but only when I’m at a pub and even then it wouldn’t be my first option.

A local near me used to sell Staropramen on tap (side note a pretty decent lager at 5.0%) and it used to come in a tankard so I think some pubs do still use them (depending on what lagers they sell). It’s a shame as they replaced it Cruzcampo not long ago which is an average beer at best and it seems to be everywhere now?

That’s just incorrect. Pubs are allowed to serve in tankards/beer mugs. They’ve become less used in pubs because of several factors but mainly the cost (as they’re not the cheapest option, plus people steal them) and they are not particularly practical for space on shelves or the dishwasher compared to regular pint glasses, which can also be stacked).
