I love it but would generally only go to places out of season when accomodation is affordable and you can get a dinner reservation without feeling like you're putting other people out. The freedom is great but the downside is having to organise everything yourself

Some of my favourite trips have been solo ones though. Especially visiting Kyiv a couple of weeks before the war broke out, feel very lucky to have done that (and to have timed it just about right!)

What was the last solo-holiday you took, MTVN? You’ve got me intrigued now.

No I couldn’t. I can’t even go to the doctors without someone coming with me. I can’t imagine getting on a plane by myself

I'm the same tbh.

I don't really go anywhere by myself.

We're quite a close knit family tbh.

Especially post-Pandemic.

I’m actually hoping for a family-trip this autumn, to celebrate American thanksgiving (North Carolina). If it works out and money’s not an object, it’ll be great. I travel alone a lot but a family holiday can be much-needed.

I hope that you get to do it Redway.

I have discovered a Pub Restaurant recently, that I personally think wipes the flaw with Wetherspoons.

Plus the Music is fantastic in there.

Not yet.

I know that my Dad does want one sooner rather than later though.

Just thought I’d leave these out here, even if you’re not an introvert but, like, you’re toying with travelling solo, or maybe you have to (e.g., for work-reasons). It’s not about being “awkward” or over-analysing yourself. It’s about being comfortable in and enjoying your own company (and not being awkward with that), which is a flex, not a weakness or deficit. If anyone chooses to misunderstand it as-such (something that desperately needs to be fixed), that’s their problem. It shouldn’t discourage anyone from wanting to do that. Doesn’t have to be somewhere quiet, either. Could be Las Vegas, for all we know.

And where would you want to go, ideally?

Tbh I'm up for most places.

As long as it doesn't involve heights or being near wild animals.:joker:

So Eiffel Tower’s off the cards for you and your future wife, then? Want to make the proposal on ground?

I think that would be the case.

Would you propose to your loved one at the Eiffel Tower?
