I think considering it was Helen's first day she did very well. It was all completely new for her and it showed. That flaming Claire Sweeney annoyed me pushing herself in so much. It must have been difficult for Helen thrown in with 'experienced' presenters.
Loved how she stuck up for Paul regarding who is the hottest in BB. Give her a couple of programmes and I think we will see Helen coming out of herself. They need to let her feel her way. She will get there. Good on you Helen lovely to see you back. |
Yes. helen adapted to the Lorraine show very quickly. It wasn't just clair sweeny they all played a part in not helping Helen to cue herself in and be heard as much as she could have been. But as you say it's her first day. She seemed reasonably relaxed as ever. Helen is trying to drop the "I like blinking saying" She said last time that was her only regret. So what do they do, they introduce her as the girl who likes blinking.
:spin2: |
I thought the susbject was a bit heavy myself, and Gloria Hunniford gave Helen a poison glance whenever she did manage to get her 5 pennorth in.
Anyway, I thought it was an idea to send in my appreciation of her appearance, and express the hope that she'll be on all the time in future! If anyone else wants to, the email address is: loosewomen@itv.com |
Sounds a good idea ROB think I shall be composing an appropriate complimentary text. She needs encouragement and who else should it come from but us lot her loyal supporters
:thumbs::thumbs: |
I sent one already:blush::blush: I hope everyone else is doing one :blush:
or am I just sad?:bawling::bawling: |
I was annoyed at the judgemental comments made by callers-in to the show and people interviewed on the streets about George Best's OH supporting him.
Alcoholism is a disease and if it was any other type of illness that George Best was suffering from, she would be getting credit not criticism. |
I agree James. The whole thing was handled badly really. Alex Best obviously adores George, who despite being a nightmare is I suspect an absolutley lovely man. Unlike that other famous drink damaged footballer with a plethora of talent, he is witty and intelligent. I have also never heard of him being violent, which is a very common picture with alcoholics.
George fell into superstardom at a time when association footballers were admired, but not previously feted by hordes of female fans, or rewarded with wads of money. He was a simple lad who just couldn't handle it when faced with an alladin's cave of women, high life and money. I think it's great that she has stood so devotedly by him. I am sure it's terribly destructive, and certainly understand the bitterness of those who are still awaiting transplants. But it is a disease, and George still has the same head on his shoulders, and the same fundamental insecurities and demons that made him vulnerable in the first place. They also made him one of the most inspirational and gifted players of all time. I will never forget seeing his balletic and seemingly effortless skill on the pitch. This was long before Alex Best's time. Though she may have been initially interested in the legend of George Best, she married the man: frail, vulnerable, prematurely aged and ill. He was all of those things, but he was also mercurial, and boyish with a glint of that sparkle of genius still patently obvious in his eyes. I hope George can get through this, and finally defeat the demons that have plagued his life. Good luck to both of them. |
not on today
|
E-mail to loose women done and dusted.:spin2:
|
E-mail has bounced back as a failed e-mail. Anyone else had this problem:conf:
|
No, wonder why?
|
Mine went through OK. Hope she had loads.
Think they will be rotating presenters if you know what I mean. Be nice if she is on regular days so we can set the videos properly. |
The technical jargon that came back with the e-mail is beyond my understanding of e-mail world. It say's it is a"permanent error" and an automated response from the system.
I put Helen Adams as the subject line. perhaps they are automatically screening out e-mails to avoid abuse e-mails etc to individuals. It was a simple message thanking them for having Helen back on tv and how good it was to see her again. Not that they ever got to read it if the auto system did't accept it for some strange reason. I have one regular e-mail from a forum and it always gets redirected into the junk mail on my hotmail account and it is not junk mail. so these systems are not fool proof it appears. |
Argh, forgot today. Was she on?
|
Fraid not...:bawling: Friday i think..
|
Got to be Friday cos that's when they are having Alex and Fed on. Now Helen sorting those two out will be worth watching.
|
Well. Helen certainly gave loose women a shot in the arm today. Helen adams full throttle. She was great.....
She took a couple of knocks first from that crabby woman whose name I can never remember. Helen was complimenting her saying she was not that old and was rewarded by being told to "shut it" Later alex from BB3 insulted her by telling her she was mad. Well Helen was full throttle shouting in Alex's left ear.:laugh: So he was a bit miffed by that. Serve him right:laugh: Helen took it all in her stride and put loose women back on the map as far as I am concerned. I think I heard her say that Paul wears ear plugs around the house:laugh::colour: Oh waht a BB we would have had if Helen and Alex were in the same BB house. One of them would have walked I think. Probably Alex.:colour: |
Oh no i missed the show :bawling:
|
That's for that report bananarama, I missed it, was Fed on it as well and how did it go with him ? :spin2: :spin2:
|
Yes. fed was on and he and Helen seemd to click ok. Helen confidently went into interviewing mode with Fed. She may not have a university education but she seems to be a natuaral at interviewing. When not damaging there ear drums she makes anyone feel at ease and talkative.
When I saw her on the monday show I was a bit worried about her nose being pushed out. Well today she was having none of that. She wasn't rude or anything just miles more confident and just being herself. Helen Adams. Which is a lesson to all BB contestants past, present and future.:colour: |
Thanks again for that, I knew she could do it, you have to push in on that show or you'd never get a word in, she's a fast learner, :hello:  :hello: all the best Helen, you'll do great
|
I don't know if it was my imigination but Alex seemed to be a bit "rude" to Helen from the start. He spent most of the time with his back turned against Helen and Mrs crab woman and talked instead to that "Kerry" girl is it. Sorry I am terrible with names and I can't be bothered to look them up.
Helen did speak to him eventually and he faced her "if be it briefly". I am probably beeing paranoid......or something... This apparent snub was before Helen went into full vocal. Seems he didn't really want to speak to her. As I say it might have been my imagination. Anyone else who saw the show I would like to know what you think about that...:spin2: |
I watched this today and taped it:blush:
I think Helen was much more confident today I think the fact that she was interested in the topics today made her feel better about giving her opinion. I thought Alex was very rude all the way through pulling faces at Helen each time she said anything then having the nerve to call her loud:nono: She did put him in his place though when someone suggested that her and Alex would make a good couple saying No I'll stick to Mr Clarke :love:as we would expect:love: and saying that they were a good couple. A few Paul mentions today she just can't help it bhlcs:love: interesting that since coming out of the house she likes cleaning and tells Paul off for not putting things back in the right place:thumbs:good for you Helen:thumbs: I think after them all telling her she was too loud she will be even better next time I hope she doesn't change she'll add lots of fun :spin2: |
Today's Loose Women just showed how much we have missed with Helen not being on our screens.
She was completely her bubbly, loud, foot in the mouth self. I quite agree Alex was sooo rude to her (never did like him anyway). She seemed to get on well with Fed though. Can anyone remember how she told Paul off in the house cos he never put the top back on the sugar and never put the milk back. Sounds like times dont change. She gave as good as she got today - great. And here's to more insights into the Clarke/Adams household.:blush::hugesmile::love: |
Oh dear i'm not going to be very popular and I can't believe i'm saying this, but I think it's time for Helen to go back to hairdressing now!!!!!!
Just hear me out. I taped the show today and i felt really embarassed for her. Every one of the panel and the guests were very obviously cringing every time she said something. She doesn't think about her answers and just blurts them out. She even mad Kerry 'big boobs' Mcfadden look half way intelligent!!!. This doesn't feel right saying this at all but I think this time Helen is completely out of her depth and it could only get worse. I hope not though!!! SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!! |
