I had a message from LEE about 5 minutes before the 3rd place was announced saying "Heehee". It took me 4 of those minutes to work out that she was talking about the fact that Scott had come third! :bawling::bawling: So now you know that the show is recorded and then goes out about 5 minutes afterwards.

AndyJK 26-07-2003 10:49 AM

I saw the Tickle banner at the end of BBLB. :hello:

steve_o 26-07-2003 06:45 PM

I couldn't see anyone except the idiot with the Brian To Win Banner right in the cameras shot. Somebody should have told him BB2 finished years ago. I bet he thought he was really clever doing that banner.

:spin:

Romantic Old Bird 26-07-2003 06:51 PM

Well, clever or not, Davina picked it out and said " 'Aaah, Brian to win', we loved Brian didn't we? ", so it was noticed and got him or her noticed.

So not that shabby really Steve-o.

Davina got the irony even if it was above some people's heads.

I thought the banner was very funny  I get the feeling your not keen on BB2 :conf:

Janette 26-07-2003 08:50 PM

If Brian had been in the house this year he would DEFINITELY have won!!!!!!

BB2 was a classic, and we're not going to stop talking about it, and the housemates from it!

This site was set up because of the popularity of BB2, so thanks to Brian, Helen, Paul and the rest of them we have a great site to talk on!

LEE 26-07-2003 08:51 PM

I really liked the banner as well and I don't really understand why you have such a problem with it Steve, I thought it was really funny.

rachb 26-07-2003 09:05 PM

I think Brian was one of the best bb characters there has ever been along with others he made bb compulsive viewing:thumbs:
I have watched it since and will continue to watch it as long as it is on our tv screens but that does not mean that after it finishes I will just forget about the housemates!
I liked most of the bb2 housemates(especially Helen and Paul) and still have an interest in anything they do on tv and I don't think we should be made to feel guilty about wanting to remember them.
I sometimes avoid threads about Jade as I'm not a fan but I would never have a go at anyone for still supporting her as that is up to each individual.
to finish my rant I think Brian will always be one of the biggest stars of bb and will be remembered so good on the man with the banner for reminding us of the bb2 the best so far:shocked:phew I feel better now

James 27-07-2003 12:02 AM

There was a 'Bring Back Brian' poster banner aswell.

We were in the section under the top of the stairs leading out of the house. I think Cameron pointed to the Mr Men banner that I was holding when he came out of the house. You can see it in one of the screenshots that bbceleb1 did where Ray is coming out of the house.

steve_o 27-07-2003 12:30 AM

Blimey the attacks, I just thought it was over the top that's all. By the way I did like bb2 it was was Brian I wasn't that keen on. He should have had said Helen to win, but if you've all nothing better to do anymore than have a go out me for having a different opinon, than the rest of you, well so be it. I'll still speak my mind even if does start to get on your nerves. I'm not having a go at you lot so why have a go at me. You can chuck me off the site if you don't like what I've got to say anymore. I don't have to simper over everything thanks very much! Especially a Brian supporter who I happen to think was two years out of date. Didn't they watch this years programme or something. While I'm at it as well, I couldn't stand Cameron so you can have a go at me for that as well if you want. It seems everyone has to agree on the same things here now! and another thing rachb who the hell are you to say I should only read certain threads! and not make any comment!

rachb 27-07-2003 01:10 AM

steveo please chill:thumbs:I was saying that if something upsets you or you don't enjoy it do like i do and don't read it.
I wasn't trying to tell you what to do:nono:its just that once or twice you have said you no longer want to talk about bb2 so thats fair enough but i think a few people still do, each to their own:thumbs:it wouldn't do for us all to like the same things:nono:
and I for one did enjoy watching bb4 maybe not as much as some but i still post on the bb1,bb3 and bb4 threads aswell as bb2:thumbs:

steve_o 27-07-2003 01:56 AM

I'm not the only one who needs to chill, some people seem to think I've a problem because I've not got the same sense of humour as them. What I was on about was I couldn't see anyone from this site, someone made a banner taking about 5 mins of time with Brian to win in black ink and gets pride of place in front of the cameras, were as other people like on this site and elsewhere go to the trouble of making great up to date banners. I'd have rather have seen them in the line of the cameras. All I was tryin to say was I'd rather have seen those. You know a bit of TIBB loyality. But no people would rather have a pop at me because Davina Mccall, goddess almighty liked it, so someone maybe fixed it, so it got noticed that's all. At the end of the day though I couldn't care less, but what I do care about is people ROB trying to have a sly patronising dig at me for saying I didn't like something or agree with it or didn't see the irony and it went straight over my head Oh dear!. I'll remember that one. Maybe it was because some of us were stuck at home miles away having to read the bloody thing all the time which got to me. No doubt someone will tell me I should have switched the tv off or something. Or maybe have come all the way down to London and have been there. Maybe I should have been there to get the irony!

rachb 27-07-2003 02:01 AM

ok Steve I didn't see anyone from Tibb:bawling::bawling:and believe me I spent most of the night looking for them:laugh::laugh::laugh:
I did see the banners though and they were great well done you guys!!!
and I think bbceleb has managed to get some of them on screen shots:dance:
have a look if you didn't get to see them they were great:thumbs:

Excellent, Cameron is obviously a man of good taste!!!

Romantic Old Bird 27-07-2003 11:55 AM

Steve, I probably should leave this here, but seriously, it was a completely spontaneous comment by Davina who does a lot of ad libbing with the crowd between live sessions.

I wasn't Brian's biggest fan either, and I have been attacked on that often enough.
I am aware of the criticism that some of us are stuck in 2001, but that is because nothing has equalled the excitement and involvement a lot of us felt for BB2. I certainly wouldn't have been posting on here without it.

The crowd was filled with evey possible sort of person, regardless of age, size, with and without banners. People dressed as Mr Tickle, people in Chicken costumes, which, I think resembled Marjorie more than any of the BB4 chickens, but we didn't mind.

The crowd had a carnival atmosphere, with a bit of 'Dunkirk spirit' thrown in thanks to surviving the deluge together.
We were grateful of any diversion, the dafter the better.

Posters ranged from dire to works of art, but all were interesting, especially if all you have looked at for 7 hours is the brolly in front of you and the rain has made your sandwiches soggy.

If you can't take a little leg-pulling after all this time from someone like me, it's a poor do. We go back a long way don't we?

Let's leave it there shall we?
:wavey:

Hear, hear ROB. Talk about a storm in a teacup. Lighten up Steve there's a good chap, no need to get het up. Many of us remember BB2 as the best TV programme ever. It brought us all together after all! This board was set up on the strength of it. It is inevitable that many people will compare BB4's lacklustre with BB2's triumph. I, for one, will never forget the summer of BB2. It seems from the Brian placard that we are not alone!

I'd hate you to feel 'got at' Steve. I respect your views as I hope you respect mine. The board would be a very dull place if we all agreed all the time. Keep stating your views, I welcome the diversity of opinion!

steve_o 27-07-2003 03:02 PM

Fair enough, I've had all I've got to say as well. I must have missed Davina's comments on the Brian banner maybe it wasn't shown on the telly, or I'd either gone for another beer or was in the loo or out of the room at the time. It's great though what a bit of old cardboard and a marker pen can do to get you noticed though. I say with a touch of Irony.
