Last nights was good !
I never raelly watched the last series closely!! I love it =D x |
The first episode of series 2 got 6.5m (28%) which is the programmes highest ratings ever. I'm glad it did great because it is such a funny and brilliant programme.
6.5m would also be ITV's highest 9pm weekday slot of the year? Very impressive. It will be interesting to see how much it can hold on to.
Yeah it is ITV's 9pm weekday slot this year so far, it's up against My Family next week so it could lose some viewers.
It will lose some but I don't think My Family will dent Benidorm that much and vice versa.
Benidorm I would say on the whole appeals to the working class and the younger 16-34 audience, but My Family IMO appeals to the middle class, and families with children. My Family doesn't actually start until a week on Friday, not this Friday () so Benidorm will have a fortnights headstart to build up a fan base and with My Family you need to take into account its established slot is 8.30pm. |
This was really funny again this week. Makes me laugh out loud!!!
The second episode was much better, really funny I couldn't stop laughing at some parts.
lol yeah when he was dancing(Kates husband)

Big mistake making the show 1 hour long, I think 30mins was just right Also bad news for Big Brother if it returns to the Friday night slot |
No as the 1 hour is the same as 2 x 30mins joined faster.
This 30mins style is wrong on other shows it is to short. The late Wendy Richard was great in it, as a guest star |
im dunno about the hour thing i think it might kill it half an hour was just right
Awesome news!

Your favourite holidaymakers are back. Benidorm returns for a one-hour Summer special on ITV1 that delivers thrills, drama, action and, of course, award-winning comedy.
Will Mel survive? Will Mick be left stranded in a Benidorm jail? Will Janice run off with Jack? Will The Oracle ever reach dry land? And just how will Madge cope?!! Set in the all inclusive Solana resort with an award-winning ensemble cast, the first two series of Benidorm have proved a huge hit for ITV1 with the show being nominated for a British Comedy Award and winning The National TV Award for Best Comedy on TV last year. The one-hour Summer special – created and written by the award-winning Derren Litten – picks up exactly where series two ended. The Garveys - Mick (Steve Pemberton – Whitechapel, The League of Gentlemen), Janice (Siobhan Finneran – Unforgiven, Clocking Off), their kids Telle and Michael and Telle’s baby son Coolio - are all back and, as usual, find themselves at the centre of the action. The Garvey’s outspoken grandma Madge (Sheila Reid – Midsomer Murders, Monarch of the Glen) is distraught her new husband Mel (Geoffrey Hutchings – Eastenders, Cor Blimey) is unconscious in hospital…. but she’s soon to be faced with a much more dangerous situation. The Oracle (Johnny Vegas – Ideal, Bleak House) was last seen flying out to sea on a rogue paraglider, as his mum Noreen (Elsie Kelly – The Famous Five, Crossroads) looks on. Kate (Abigail Cruttenden – Foyle’s War, The Robinsons) and Martin (Nicholas Burns – Nathan Barley, Man Stroke Woman) are back and celebrating Kate’s surprise pregnancy news. Gay couple Gavin (Hugh Sachs - The Catherine Tate Show, Him and Us) and Troy (Paul Bazely – Vanity Fair, Green Wing) return and find themselves drawn into the Garvey’s dramatic situation. Good-hearted swingers Donald (Kenny Ireland – Rose and Maloney, New Tricks) and Jacqueline (Janine Duvitski – One Foot in the Grave, Abigail’s Party) end up becoming ‘unofficial babysitters’ to the Garvey kids. The special also features a return appearance from Elliott Jordan (EastEnders) who plays Jack – the local bar boy who declared his love for Janice at the end of series two. Michaela Hennessy-Vass, ITV’s Commissioning Editor of Comedy says: ”Our favourite characters have returned with a spectacular and of course very funny show. I’m thrilled that once again Derren Litten, the writer and creator has delivered a holiday gem for ITV viewers. We have a great cast and production team and as a result a fabulously funny show”. Benidorm is written and created by Derren Litten, produced by Jo Willett, and directed by BAFTA award winning Sandy Johnson (Jonathan Creek, Kingdom, Love Soup). Sophie Clarke-Jervoise is executive producer. Sophie Clarke-Jervoise, from Tiger Aspect, adds “We’re delighted that Benidorm is making a welcome return to ITV1 for this one-off Special. Fans are in for a treat with an action-packed comedy adventure which picks up where series 2 ended, and sets the scene for the forthcoming third series in the autumn.” Benidorm is a Tiger Aspect production for ITV1. from ITV |
