Tanser_Man, do you believe in Lashmia and Ganesha? Or do you just take part in it because it brings people together?

Im not trying to prove any points or anything, dont worry. Just plain curiousity really.
I don't believe in any religions, i can understand why people do the things they do and believe what they believe but for me i just find it all fictitious and regurgatated tripe.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the celebrations and the occassions but that doesn't mean i have to be part of the religions to do so!

Likewise, it just sounds to me as though you're treating their religion/celebrations as many people treat christmas.

The majority use it as an excuse to come together, see your family/friends in one place, and just generally have one really good day.

Nobody could ever argue against that.

People can attend these celebrations and take advantage of all the good things that come with it, without actually caring for whatever it is they're celebrating.

Kind of like "crashing" a random persons birthday party, even though you've never met them/not all that fussed it's their birthday, you can still go and have a good time.
