You don't have to work with paint to be an artist.

But that was her excuse for not doing the task :puzzled:

She'll still have a lot more experience working with paint than the other housemates, so I don't understand her problem.

When you study art, they make you study all aspects so she will have had to paint at some point...

She is not crap. There is other kinds of art. You can't state that shes crap. What do you know about art?

So? I do art frequently (for GCSE + just at home, I do project etc.) and I try not to use paints as much as possible ... this could mean using pencils, pens, photography, installation etc.

She's a conceptual artist, which doesn't really mean using paint. You can say it's not art, but that's just your opinion - it's considered art, hence why it's called Conceptual Art.

You don't have to know anything about art to have the opinion that it is cr*p. If you were using that argument though, it was clear the art critic, that did know about art was not impressed either.

I'm fine with amy 'expressing' herself and calling it art, I just don't think she is talented, it's just my opinion.

He’s actually a critic of all forms of art, including conceptual art and likely knows more about all types than me, you and indeed amy!!

And I actually think amy is a bit of a snob too but that’s a separate issue and has nothing to do with how good or bad I think her art is.

It’s obvious amys dirty sink, cleaning squares and self portrait made up of a load of random lines speaks to you- I just think it’s rubbish!
