Do you live in a rural or urban part of France remy?

Second biggest french city, Marseille. How to explain ? Well, one of the biggest european port, big beach, many islands, sunny time all year long and best place for clubbing in France. So I guess it's a urban part lol

Sound like fun. That's the main reason I come on TiBB so much, as their is little else to do.

It doesn't sound fun, it is. And the mayor makes a great job about cleaning and stuff like this so I don't really worry as I live in the center of the town.

Yes it was pretty bad, they demolished it to re-build an other one. Well, bad people are everywhere.

Actually, they don't just clear rubbish up here. Their job description is "outdoor maintenance" meaning they also go around fixing things that have broken, or cut the grass in public places etc.

There is a mile stretch near my college and a shopping centre nearby. A lot of people are always around that mile stretch. There are no bins. When you are coming back from there with food, the last thing you want to be doing is holding rubbish whilst you are trying to eat something. And as there are no bins about dropping is the only option.

If I'm near a bin then I'll put it in the bin obviously but if not then I throw it on the floor. It's hardly Notting Hill where I live so I'm hardly the only one ... though I know that's not the point.

However, one thing that REALLY p!ssed me off ....

I was on my dinner hour and I threw a chip wrapper on the floor and the community support officers shouted me back and I got a £75 for throwing it. I honestly was shocked ... £75 for throwing a chip wrapper when it's only a £30 fine if you use your mobile whilst driving ... which one is putting lives in danger?

I was genuinely shocked, and they said to me "well at least you won't do it again". I still do it, purposely sometimes because I'm honestly that immature purely because I couldn't believe they fined me £75 for it when I've stated about the mobile phones and driving. I'm just more aware now and rather than looking for a bin, I look for a green jacket to see if a community officer is there. :whistle:

I can't bring myself to drop litter. It's such a scruffy rude thing to do! I was brought up better than that.

Well said Lauren, to drop litter is disgusting. And the argument 'there is no bin around' is just a sad excuse.

Its up to everyone to keep Britain tidy

It doesnt take much effort to find a bin, even if it is a mile away.

It is pure laziness. The fact that someone would rather take the effort to look for the green jacket than a bin speaks volumes.

It annoys me it really does. What the hell does it say about society that they would rather dump litter on the ground rather than walking slightly out of your way.

I get really angry when I see someone drop litter. You see people inches from a bin, yet they still drop it on the floor. I also hate it when you're in the car and you see the person in front chuck something out of their window, whether it be a crisp packet or the remainants of their McDonald's Drive-Thru. Where do they think it goes?

If I have rubbish, I hold on to it until I either see a bin or am home. Even if it's an inconvenience I could never just throw it on the floor.

Its not just about what it makes the country look like it also has a negative effect on wildlife.

What about food waste? Dropping that will encourage rats.... did you know that there is 60 million rats in the uk??

Thats approximately 1 rat to every person in the UK

I am guilty of littering with spent cigarette butts. Sometimes I do pick it up and put it in the bin, but not always. I don't drop any other litter.

When my husband came home the other night and tried to park the car someone had dumped an empty tv box and inside was a dirty burnt frying pan in our parking space how lazy is someone to do a thing like that.I ended up taking it indooors and im going to take it to the dump.

Well I do that sometimes in the street but not always, only when I know there will be no bin near the point I am.

More and more bins are getting taken away in London due to the fear of someone leaving a bomb in them. There used to be one round the corner from work but even that has gone now.

With the smoking ban now being in force, many bars/pubs provide ashtrays outside which I always use.

Alongside our road their was a load of McDonalds Rubbish, and then a animal had ate some of it, as it was alll ripped out its bag. But being the Samartaian I am I picked it up, but I dont want to sound lazy, but I dont do it much, it doesnt really appeak to me picking up other litter.

Along the droves people have been flytipping aswell, dumping garden wase, old electrical items and tyres. Luckily we phoned the council and they got rid of that.

Honestly, you should be ashamed.
Why carry on dropping litter, you should of learnt you lesson.

I know, and I know I have the wrong attitude about it but my area is horrible, it's a horrible to place to live in so me throwing a malteasar packet on the floor [when there is no bin] is hardly making the area any worse. And yeah, I know it's not the point and I shouldn't really do it but in my area I think people are more interested in looking out for somebody jumping out on them with a knife than a chip wrapper on the floor.

Though if there is a bin then of course I throw it in the bin.

The only option! So its impossible is it to carry it in your precious little hands! A mile stretch - Woo Hoo! That's some long way everyone has to walk!

When you are coming back with foood, the the last thing you want to do is walk alongside other people rubbish.

Sorry, but I am very angry at everyones lazyiness!
