How can it be illegal to have a FAKE wedding after 6pm!!!!!!!

- The marriage must take place in the presence of a registrar or an authorised person.

- The ceremony must take place between 8am and 6pm.

- Two witnesses must be present at both a civil and religious ceremony.

- You must both be free and eligible to marry (ie you can’t already be married!)

So yeah, Blink_Me, your 'mate' isn't legally married

The house were led to believe it was real. Some of them will know about the 8am-6pm rule and would suss out straight away that the wedding is fake

OMG! Now that is a good idea!

I really hope that these 4 being up for eviction has something to do with it though.

That's ceremony. They didn't get married at a ceremony.

Here's some other rules:

Marriage

No one can be forced to marry against their wishes.
Both members of the couple must be aged 16 or over.
You can't already be married (see bigamy).
Can't be too closely related
Under 18s must gain their parent's or guardian's written consent, otherwise it is a criminal offence, although the marriage would still be valid.
Marriages involving under-16s are not recognised by law.
You need at least two witnesses to sign register on the day.

They got married by a priest I know. It was a last minute thing. They got married about 8:30pm.

But whatever, I'm not going to argue about it. I know they're married, and I know the priest is valid.

Jack_ 08-06-2008 05:02 PM

bbspy have now said that there is no live show tonight.

Aww, I want one!

Captain.Remy 08-06-2008 05:03 PM

Can't wait to see what it is all about. I doubt Davina will host tonight's show only to open the lines. I'm sure something is up.

If it was by a priest then it will have been a ceremony. If it was after 6pm then it isn't legit.

Last time I'm going to write back to this.

They are officially married. They were married by an official priest, at his home, at 8:30pm. The papers were signed straight after the wedding and were sent the very next morning.
