I seriously can't believe the lack of supermarkets others have :shocked:. I live within a 10 minutes drive of Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Kwik Save (Somerfield), Farmfoods, Netto, and about 3 co-ops, or just go into town (about 15-20 minutes) where you pass an Iceland, another Tesco's on the way, where there is an M&S, Tesco Express and Aldi and town itself. I'm quite shocked at that ...

We live in a small village and we don't even have a post office or village shop any more other than a very good but small farm shop which is open three days a week and the mobile post office which comes to the village hall two mornings a week. Luckily we have an hourly bus service into Oakham which runs to 7pm, Mondays to Saturday.

Oakham is the county town of Rutland. It is the nearest town to us and only has a population of 10,000 or so. The county itself only has 35,000 people living in it. Most people have to do their major shops in one of the two (now one) supermarkets in Oakham if they don't want to leave the county to shop.

Having said that I coudn't live in a city again after living in a village again.
