Can I just say that no TT fans are slagging Britney or her fans for that matter so could you please not mock us?

Callum 13-10-2008 09:34 PM

Sorry it's just I really want Britney to be number one and it's real annoying how TT come along from nowhere and release their song on the same day and the album name called The Circus. Britney deserves this number one so much, I'm not saying TT don't, but she has worked so hard to get her life back on track and getting a number one over here would be just what she needs to know that the British public still love her.

She'll get #1 in the US.

She's only ever had 1 no1 in the USA

Princess 13-10-2008 09:39 PM

Came from nowhere? They've been writing the album since about March. I'm sure she'll get in America anyway even if she doesn't get it here. I think she already knows everyone loves her though.

Suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

No people always assume the US love her, but she's only had 1 number one over there.

I really came accross badly earlier, I actually love some of TT's songs, and this one is quite good too after a few listens but I really want Britney for number one over here.

xDramatick 13-10-2008 09:41 PM

IMO; Getting to number #1 isn't as special as it used to be.
Years ago, everyone would aim for it and wanted to reach it.
Nowadays, it seems the songs that DON'T get to number #1 are the more successful/popular tracks.

Do you realise the small chance she has? She needs 300,000+ downloads for the opening week to get number 1. T.I already has huge audience impressions. It's a fight between her and his two songs.

KawaiiSakura1 13-10-2008 10:21 PM

I'm not a middle aged woman:tongue: and I'd rather buy Take that more then Britney.

KKBL 13-10-2008 10:27 PM

ive only heard the new TT track once.but from taht i love it.i love Womanizer aswell.but Princess is wondering who WILL get to #1 taht week and not why you want.i think TT will get to #1 that week and Britney will be #1 a few weeks before that.

Yeah but songs like Black&Gold, When I Grow Up, Piece Of Me, they've all been hugely successful elsewhere, whereas songs like Sex On Fire and Viva La Vida haven't.

I'm not focusing just on sales [because IMO, they don't count for everything], just something I've noticed in general. Either way, I don't think being at number #1 is that special anymore. Obviously it's great if you do, but there have been tracks just as popular that have only made the top 10/20/40.

MarkWaldorf 14-10-2008 03:11 PM

I cant believe their album is actually called The Circus.

DamonJ 14-10-2008 04:07 PM

Even though I love Britney, I actually wouldn't mind if Take That got the #1 spot either. They're really talented and produce fantastic music, yes I love Britney more than them, but I wouldn't mind if Take That got #1.

x_mel_x 14-10-2008 04:14 PM

Not a massive fan of either but probably Take That as thats the only song I have heard.

Nicola 14-10-2008 04:27 PM

Got to be Take That for me, I've been a fan of them for years and will definitely be getting their album! I'm old enough to remember them first time around and first got into them when I was 10 and saw them on Top Of The Pops singing It Only Takes a Minute.

Thing about the album titles

Quote:

TAKE THAT vow they'll not change the name of their new album - even though it has the same release date and title as Britney Spears' LP.

The Manchester group's ' fifth album, The Circus, is out on December 1, the same week Britney's Circus hits the shops.

But yesterday their manager said: "The boys have worked on this for months, like Britney, and we certainly won't be changing the title.

"When you work that far in advance, it's impossible to know what people will call albums. Erasure had an album Circus. The name is not copyrighted.

"I doubt there will be confusion. Fans will either ask for the new record by Take That or Britney Spears."

Britney's camp were also steadfast. An insider said: "Britney is not likely to change the title. She announced it two weeks ago.

There won't be confusion - Take That are great at what they do and everyone is excited about Britney's comeback."

Gary Barlow went on Radio 1's Chris Moyles show yesterday to debut their new single Greatest Day, penned by the entire group. Gary said: "This is a team effort. We always think we've got great songs for finishing our concerts, so we wanted something to start a concert."

He also revealed plans for Take That's 2009 tour.

Gary said: "We're finalising dates - maybe in a couple of weeks we'll all come in and announce it." The singer also chatted about collaborating with comic Peter Kay on The Winners Song, which featured on Sunday night's Britain's Got The Pop Factor .... spoof show.

He said: "Peter called me in January saying he wanted a song for the end of his show.

"He had all these lyrics - an amalgamation of all The X Factor songs - and we wrote it together."

The track, which Kay sings as trans-sexual Geraldine McQueen, is out now.

Yesterday, Take That's website was full of excitement about the tour.

But one fan posted: "I hope they don't go on sale in December, do wealthy people not read about the credit crunch?"
