Acceptable. Knife crime is nowhere near as bad as the media are making out. Anyone with half a brain cell will have enough common sense to not think "oh shes got a knife, I'll get one too".
Really? Try living where I live!
The media blow everything out of proportion, especially negativity.

Its amazing how much the news and newspapers actually do to scare people into thinking situations are worse than they are.
10 stabbings around where I live in August, 2 fatal stabbings afterwards in September...
The chances are its always been like that, but only we're hearing more about it now because the media have decided its the next major issue.

This was done in 2005, like Darenn said it's a pose based on a film called Clockwork Orange. She's not promoting Knife crime or anything.

Damaris 25-10-2008 05:09 PM

Acceptable.

I dont see the problem!

It isnt like shes saying knives are good you should attack people with them.

People are just over reacting.

Statistics show that knife crime was worse last year than this year, yet where was the sensationalist reporting last year?

I can see the argument as to why it IS acceptable, but you have to remember there are naive young teens in the world.

If a 8-year-old fan of Katy Perry saw this, she'd be heavily influenced and would think that knives are the "cool thing"

I think it's those in the spotlight's duty to demote the use of weapons and all. I understand that Katy's trying to be edgy, but she really does have to think about her immature and naive fans.

Yes they would.

If you were 8 or younger, wouldn't you try your hardest to imitate your idol? They're fans of Katy Perry, and they look up to her.

Billy 25-10-2008 05:33 PM

LOL I cant believe 14 people hvae said it's unacceptable.
If there is anyone, and I mean anyone who thinks because Katy Perry has a knife, that they can get one too because it's cool, then they are seriously retarded. There's nothing wrong with it at all IMO.

I also think that 8 year old Katy Perry fans havent seen this picture i think it would be ridiculous if this picture made someone think knife crime is cool.

Its all over the news that knife crime is unacceptable and i dont think a picture taken like 3 years ago will make someone think otherwise.

I don't see 8 year olds liking KP, for some reason.

Y'never know. I know a few 8 year olds that like KP.

But whatever, I don't like Katy Perry, so I'll stay out of this thread.

To be fair, if any 8 year olds carried knives because of Katy Perry then i'd blame the parents for not keeping enough of an eye on them to GET a knife. It's lax parenting that's another part of the problem.

I agree. People get all steamed up about things like this. If they want to get angry about something, there are plenty of things more worthy of their time.

Gives new meaning to girls and stilletoes.

Princess 26-10-2008 11:12 PM

Acceptable. For all the reasons that have been said already.
