In a way, I feel sorry for her too. She isn't the brightest, so its not surprising she's so easily manipulated.

On the other hand, she does seem to love the attention.

But that is all she has ever known in her life, it's hardly her thought she was pushed into celebrity life at such a early age. She probably didn't have much say in it.

You just do what Momma and Papa want you do do.

For god sake i just heard sinita on loose woman saying that they all received an email including all the judges saying they were not allowed to touch or watch her rehearse i mean come on she is not that special.

That may well be the case but she's not the only one. Others have had similar careers but we dont hear every single detail of their lives.

Britney may not have enough upstairs to play the press in the way others have but I dont buy that nothing that ever happens to her is her fault. I find that too hard to believe.

I agree, but her need for attention comes from the way she was brought up and the life style she was trust into. It's a physiological problem she has developed that needs addressing and it makes her, her own worse enemy. She just can't handle the fame without showing off, unlike some of the others that started off as child performers.

Ross 28-11-2008 12:56 PM

Well if she doesn't want people to watch her rehearse, fair enough - maybe she wants it to be an amazing performance and surprise everyone!

As for the body guards, 45 is a bit much but let's face it she is the most popular singer they've had on X Factor ever, so that also is understandable in it's own way.

Now calling her the most popular singer they have had on the X-Factor is debatable given that Take That have had 8 singles at number 1 in the UK compared to Britney's 5, and Mariah Carey has sold more records as has Celine Dion who was on last years show.

And before anyone says she is one of the greatest singers of all time, she doesn't even make it into the top 100 on the Rolling Stone list, although she does make the Digital Dream Door list of the 100 greatest female pop singers at number 95. But lets no digress too much.

She is immensely popular artist with the world press, if not the most popular, and here lies the problem and the reason for all the bodyguards that her management feels she needs. It's not so much to protect her from the public, it's to protect her from the press. And the irony is that without the press she would be just another average pop singer trying to make living.

It's not true.

a) The students on Star Academy just watched her from the side.
b) She spoke to them after, and wished them good luck.

If she'll do it on SA but not X Factor then something is up.

I hope she does let them watch at least, I think it would be good for her to do it just to prove the paper is wrong about her. Press like this isn't good.

At the moment she needs all the good press she can get to re-launch herself on the world stage. Thankfully a lot of it has been been good, some of it very good but her management have understand that making demands like this make her look foolish.

Princess 28-11-2008 07:37 PM

Take That have 2 security guards and there's 4 of them! And they had 1 dressing room between them as well. But whatever,I'm sure Britney just wants to be safe. And it is a tabloid.

I'm not saying she's never to blame (as Girth loves to point out) but a French fan met her earlier and even said that her management told her what to do on nearly everyting. So if anything, it would be them.

then her staff told her that she couldn't stay cuz she was late (****ers). so she is going to make us autographs for us tonight in her room for star academy and they will sent them to us.
i was shocked by one thing. i had the time to realize that she doesn't control anything. everybody's doing it for her. like britney go there britney look at ur hair in the mirror britney go upstairs, britney come back downstairs, britney u gotta go now say bye to ur fans. britney: "bye bye" with a big smile.

It's really undestandable that she is feeling like a prisioner if they are treating her like that. That is horrible, it sounds like the sort of thing they do in cults. How can she be creative if she is controlled. She is being used by her management. They need to trust her a bit more. If anything going to make her go off the rails again it will be caging her like a bird.

I rather like her new single, "Womanizer", it's rather catchy and reminds me of "Baby One More Time". The production quality of the record is second to none and I hope it does well. I haven't heard the rest of the alubm but I'm sure I will as the singles are released. I hope the rest is as good.

Don't get me wrong, nobody will ever get me to worship Briteny, I'm too much of a realist for that, but she is good at what she does. She isn't the greatest singer in the world and never will be but she is a good performer. Althouh she doesn't sing live very oftern because of the processed nature of her music she knows how put on a show which she proved in Germany the other night.

Or maybe cause she's a worldwide superstar, and one of the biggest superstars of the decade? Of course not!

I think she trusts them because a lot of them have been with her since she was 16, especially Larry who she sees as a second father. As long as she's around positive people this time, it's all fine.

And yay for liking it. It annoys me when people STILL attack her for miming. She's always done it when she performs a dance routine. It's for better effect on the performance. Lets be honest, you don't watch a Britney performance for the amazing live vocals, its to see what intense show she'll put on.

Marc 28-11-2008 08:47 PM

Ouch... very demanding lol
Apparently when Mariah was on the show one of the contestants children couldn't come see them backstage to see a contestant because Mariah was there lol - these pop stars aye!?

M X 28-11-2008 09:06 PM

If this is true, which I very much highly doubt, the security is completley nessecary.

I'm not so sure she should trust her manager as much as she does at the moment, and I'm not so sure that trusting her Dad completely is a good idea either. It doesn't seem to be making her happy.

I know will differ on this, but I feel what she needs to do is release this album promote it as she is doing, do a short world tour and the then take a break. Have sometime with her family, away from the press if possible, and evaluate what she wants to do and she is going to do it without the pressure from others. I know her fans and her management will want another album straight away and that is understandable, but you don't want the woman going off the rails again through over work. She's, what nearly 27, she has at least another 20-25 years ahead of her in the pop world, so what if she takes a year or two out, to find some happiness, it will extend her career rather having her burn out in her mid 30's.

Okay, the miming thing and my problem with it, and it's not just Britney, it's okay if you are putting on a show, and that is what she does so well, but on a programme like X-Factor I find it unacceptable. I didn't like it when the X-Factor contestants did it for the charity record or when Same Difference did it last week. The reason is simple, it is because the show is a singing contest which revolves around live performances and I feel miming is like cheating even if you are a just a guest. I find it's a bit like watching a video when you're actually there to see it live.

However I understand why Britney would want to do the show, it's the biggest audience she will be able to get on British TV, but with that will come some flak, a small amount from people like me, for miming the song, but I would have said the same about anybody.

Now having said that, if I went to a Britney concert I would expect it to be mimed, because that is what she does. She records highly produced records with thier unique style and then tours and puts on a live performance of the video's she makes. It how she is marketed and what people expect.

So it not so much she is miming it, it's more the platform she is using to promoting her new single I have the problem with, I don't feel it's right for her type of performance.
