Which proves rushing an album aint good! In my opinion, albums should take a year minimum...

LMAO

Miles Davis sometimes released four or five albums in the same year. These new acts have got it too easy.

I stick to my opinion, I prefer quality to quantity. I am willing to wait a year for 12-15 incredibly good songs, than wait 3 months for about 3 good songs and the rest filler. If you are talented enough to write so quickly then good for them, but I doubt Diana is that good at writing... she shouldn't be rushed.

Why wouldn't she be good, she's being doing it all her life? She wrote Magic Mirror when she was 11.

NettoSuperstar! 16-04-2009 03:57 PM

I think she could do really well, specially if she writes her own stuff! lol Ange

Yeah but I mean it is a very big talent to be able to write 4 very good albums a year, without any filler. Some of the most talented writers take a long time to write, for a decent album you need to write more than 15 songs, you write about 50 or more and then pick the best, then you need to create the perfect instrumentals for the background, then background vocals, then you need to mix it and master it. I just can't see a legendary album being done quickly.
Just saying... chances are the album will be delayed. I can't see them sticking to it being the end of the year.

I'm only messing. Comparing Diana to a legend like Miles Davis seemed funny at the time. I agree with you but I think artists should never take more than a year to make an album.

I'm quite looking forward to her album. I hope she tries to be different and doesnt just go for chart hits. I think her album could be quite good.

I don't know why she doesn't and I was just using her record as an example that I thought it was really good and was written in 5 months and recorded in 6 days, and had 13 songs.

If anybody is interested, here's some pics of Diana in the studio working on the album -

She sounds like quite a talent. Maybe she's another Miles Davis.

Tell her to upload her songs and we'll decide if she's any godd.

Yaay can't wait for Diana's musicc.
I'll checkout Alexandra's when it comes out but if it's anything like Leona's, or really R&B based I probably won't like it.
Then again this ain't an Alex thread :S

Diana

And that is why things shouldn't be rushed. Your friend did it quick yes but not to the standard she is comfortable with releasing it, albums take a long time to perfect. Rush it and you are releasing unfinished work...

But just before Christmas she recorded a couple of songs she wrote last summer and thought they could go on the album, I think she's adding those.

Oh that could sound really good

Tom4784 17-04-2009 01:50 PM

Chances are all the songs and stuff was written months ago, it's just a matter or recording them. The reason why some albums take so long to record (I.E X Factor winners) is because they have to record LOADS of songs, for her debut album Leona apparently (I think) recorded over a hundred songs.

If the songs have been written and chosen for Diana's album and if she's recording them in one go at one studio then it shouldn't take more then a few weeks to record. After that it'll be PR for the next few months, she'll do a few gigs here and there and once the single and album comes out she'll do TV performances and such. PR takes up a lot of time in making an album. Look at people like Frankmusik and Florence and the Machine, they've been active for around a year, the albums was probably done AGES ago yet all they've done is gig performances and released a few limited singles. It's all about getting the right people talking.
