LONG LIVE THE MAC SOCIETY

I guess you have to include me... I use a macbook most of the time to access the site. Other than Kiz's and my macbooks there is a mac mini the girls use.

I'm not keen on my Vista laptop, it's slow, although it shouldn't be any slower than the macbooks given the spec, and it gets very HOT..... it's a fire risk!

The other machine I use is Acer Aspire One netbook. I stripped off the original brian damaged linux and installed a full version of Fedora linux. It is a lot of fun to use, but not the sort of thing you would want to use for anything serious just because of the smaller keyboard. It's only problem is the WIFI link which seems to be slow at times, but plug it into a cable LAN and it really speeds up and browsing on the NET becomes a breeze.

i'm using my ancient laptop atm, until i can afford a new macbook when I get back from my travels (would invest in one now, but don't fancy my chances travelling the world with something so valuable and expensive)

I had a Acer laptop! It was okay but their customer support is very poor indeed

I can image it is.... the machines are very cheap but build quality is okay and the specs are good balance of power and value for money.

The cheapest models have SD Hard Disks. The version I have has 160GB Hard Disks. It;s in a blue case only just because they didn't have a white one in stock. It's ideal to travel with and sit on you lap while watch TV.

There's a film from a while back I want to see called Pirates of Silicon Valley - it's about the guys in the 1970s that started the first PC companies. Cause I'm interested in that kind of thing. :hugesmile: 'The Woz' is in it too.
