And what a stupid attitude to have - confirmation C4 aren't even willing to give BB10 a chance to make some sort of recovery.

A shame for Jack Whitehall that Big Mouth is being trimmed down - and typical the one edition they keep is on the night they need it least. I'd rather it went completely.

Also if it's an hour long on eviction night that's means we miss even more post-eviction live streaming - and I doubt it going earlier in the week means we'll be live at the house half an hour earlier either. I imagine it'll give E4 the excuse to stick something else in the 11pm slot and hence most nights coverage from the house won't begin until after midnight.

I can easily see Five of ITV picking it up on the cheap
ITV and Five are skint - financially they're in an even worse position than C4.

ITV aren't going to snap it up as they're not going to air it at 9pm every night for three months, and it's not worth them airing it after News at Ten or over on ITV2.

Sorry, but are you incapable of reading? The auditions are for BB10, it doesn't say that this series will not go ahead..?

Fom 26-03-2009 11:08 AM

If they axed BBLB and BBBM I would not miss them, and to be fair, I would rather just watch one show with lots of effort put in, instead of wasting money spreading it out and having 3 ok shows, lets just have one AMAZING one... I dont watch the spin off's at all, I like making my own decision about housemates up, its part of the fun.

Apparently elsewhere it's being denied as rubbish.

Trouble is as things are we'll be left with one mediocre show, rather than one amazing show.

And all the channels on Sky ...?

also why wouldn't it be worth airing on ITV2?

If they quoted someone when they didnt say the quote, the Sun would face a GIANT law suit, trust me, she said it

Lets face it, The Sun has a lot more credibility at stake than the Daily Star, they have a reputation to uphold

Because it would swallow up half of ITV2's budgets - and ITV2 is actually doing pretty well without the burden of Big Brother anyway.

Tom 26-03-2009 12:42 PM

You're just assuming it would only be on ITV2.

Theres nothing stopping ITV2 having the daily show whilst ITV1 air some kind of weekly round up, perhaps the eviction. ITV2 also wouldn't have to show BBLB, Big Mouth etc whilst one of their many Freeview channels could show streaming.

They don't have to copy what Channel 4 do.

Didn't they also have an interview with the latest evictee, Kara Louise, during BB8 when she wasn't actually the latest evictee? :laugh2:

Big Brother is still Channel 4 biggest rating hit! The network know this and are not ready to let it slip just yet..
If anything it will be CBB that gets the chop and staff cut backs, Big Brother is staying!

Sod_James 26-03-2009 01:37 PM

all good things must come to an end at some point. its had a good run. i hope its not true though.

No it's not. Grand Designs is actually their biggest ratings hit. Relocation, Relocation beats it too, and if you consider Celeb BB's figures (and we shouldn't just forget them because it's convenient) a heck of a lot of programmes can match the 2.5m too.

Yes but to shut it down
because of Costs
is wrong
even in a New Labour Depression
we need Evil Endemol on TV.

Sign Of The Times.

This is a lie, i just asked someone who works for them on Digital Spy and she said...i'll quote exactly what she said.

Quote:

Nothing has been decided regarding the future of Big Brother. Until you hear it from Channel 4, please don't take it to heart.

Yes the Heading of this thread is Wrong.

Ch4 have not confirmed any of this.

seank_manu 26-03-2009 03:27 PM

OMG If That Actully Happened I Would Be So Sad =[

Tom4784 26-03-2009 03:47 PM

I'm not particulary fussed but don't take The Sun's word as fact, tabloids make up quotes all the time, I'll wait for the press release on it's future.

Chris.k 26-03-2009 05:07 PM

I don't think they should axe it, i think the show just needs a few years off air to give it a rest & a few new format changes, although i hope the news isn't true, and tbh I'm sure i read somewhere that C4 wont axe BB if people are still tuning in.
