he is a JUDGE and in SINGING competition. If someone can't sing, it makes no sense not, as judge to point that out.

Oh please, it's hardly a singing competition. It's a game, and I think everyone that's joined is incredibly brave - I know I'm too scared to join it, and the prospect of some obnoxious asshole telling me "I can't sing" is neither welcoming or necessary.
