Cheers - that's corrected it.

Now, surely we should be on page two by now!

^ Yup! Anyway, have you started designing your house then at all?

Very creative and ingenous, but Im confused lol I like how your taking the show in a complelty different direction and I think with a tidy up here and there Id love to watch this :)

It is definately the most original idea of a series yet! Adds a new elliment and is a guaranteed way to cause friction in the house and probably rebellious types.

Not been in the mood yet.

A quick tidy up of the format. Rather than HMs having different rights of access (i.e. some in Square One, some up to square 2, some in square 4 etc.) they'd be just two groups - those who can access the whole house (revealed so far), and those restricted to Square One. Unlike with the divide, those with access to the luxuries can also use square one.

Each week a zone would be unlocked - but each time a zone is unlocked one person is sent back to square one. They'd also be regular opportunities for individual head to head challenges between people in Square One and people with full access.

In addition to the zones described (though I'll probably cut a couple), they'll be Game Zones where it won't be a room they're unlocking, but some sort of reward. Zone Zero and the Inner Circle will probably remain in some form too.

It still needs a lot of thought, specifically to get the numbers right - but hopefully I'll get something together over the next week or two. I'm thinking the nature of the format kind of means I need to work backwards, rather than start with the launch.

Brekkie, I think I may have a solution for you.

There are now five zones, as follows:
Zone 1: Purgatory (like BBAU's White Room but enforced and utilised better, has a small pantry with basic rations)
Zone 2: Basic needs: garden, cots, conveyor belt on which Big Brother serves basic rations at random times, open shower in garden and BB5-esque bathroom
Zone 3: Enclosed bathroom and separate kitchen that allows housemates to make their own food (contains a store room for Zone 3 and 4), BB7-esque bedroom/bathroom set-up, pool access
Zone 4: More luxurious bedroom, hot tub access
Zone 5: Locked, private HoH room with BB9-esque bathroom and king size luxury bed

The Diary Room is located on the convergence point between Zones 1, 2, 3, and the garden.

On launch night all the housemates enter into Zone 1 which is just a white, rectangular holding room with a small toilet, pantry of basic food, and no beds with access to the Diary Room. The housemates are confined here overnight and on Day 2 will make some important decisions.

Day 3 is "dispersion day" and the housemates will unknowingly elect their HoH and who will be allocated to the zones before them. The housemates will be required by Big Brother to decide which one of them is willing to take a risk. Whomever they select will go to the Diary Room and be told that they are the HoH and the two powers they have under this position, which must remain secret at all times.

1) The HoH nominates one person for eviction; this person is automatically nominated. All other housemates will nominate at the same time and the top vote-getter(s) is the second nominee (if one of the top vote-getters is whomever the HoH nominates, the next highest person will be nominated).

2) The HoH (for the first week) will allocate the remaining thirteen housemates into Zones 2, 3, and 4. These zones have a proportional amount of available space, with 45% (6 people) in zone 2, 30% (4 people) in zone 3, and 25% (3 people) in zone 4. The selected housemate at this time does not know the increasing standard of living in each zone and does not know that housemates are only allowed to be in their zone or a lower-numbered zone.

Zone 1 is no longer used after Day 3, but will instead be used as a task room.

These allocations fluctuate each week. After the eviction, there is an HoH competition in which the former HoH may not compete. The winner moves into Zone 5 and the former HoH goes to the zone from which the new HoH originally inhabited (essentially a switch). Now that there are only twelve remaining housemates apart form the HoH, only five people will use zone 2.

Once there are ten housemates apart from the HoH, the proportions don't work out (rounding percentage results leads to one extra person). In order to solve this, a new housemate will be brought into the house. At this point, the new housemate becomes HoH and is immune from nominations and evictions but is able to nominate one person as per normal procedure. After this week's eviction, there will once be the dilemma of ten people, and allocation will be broken down into four for zone 2, and three for zones 3 and 4.

In zone 2, 3, 4 order, this is the breakdown:

When twelve non-HoH housemates remain, there is a 5-4-3 breakdown (week 2)
When eleven non-HoH housemates remain, there is a 5-3-3 breakdown (weeks 3 and 4, new housemate after week 3 eviction).
When ten non-HoH housemates remain, there is a 4-3-3 breakdown (week 5).
When nine non-HoH housemates remain, there is a 4-3-2 breakdown (week 6).
When eight non-HoH housemates remain, there will be a 3-3-2 breakdown (weeks 7 and 8, new housemate after week 7 eviction).
When seven non-HoH housemates remain, there is a 3-2-2 breakdown (week 9).
When six non-HoH housemates remain, there is a 2-2-2 breakdown (week 10).

After the week 9 eviction, there are six housemates in total left. At this point, the zone portion of the series is gone and the house becomes egalitarian. Zones 2, 3, and 5 will be closed off and become part of the camera run. There will be four housemates left in the final on Day 85/86 (depending on start date).

Housemates will compete for zone rights on Sundays apart from the former HoH, who is confined to his or her predecessor's zone.

That should work.

Even that is probably too complicated. And to be honest I'm wanting to develop this format as an alternative to introducing the HoH.

I pretty much know where I'm going with it now, but it still needs quite a bit of work before I post it here.

At the risk of doing an elliebrew, I think we might be seeing something along these lines this year from the first pic.

MichaelCracker 29-05-2009 11:00 PM

^ Lol ... I was thinking that actually ^^

Brekkie 05-06-2009 01:39 PM

Scrap any thought of them copying my idea. I would have done it so much better!
