Good reviews from Q magazine, I think it got 3 out of 5 stars.

well her music is more suited to Radio 2, but I think Radio 1 are missing out something huge by ignoring her.

MrGaryy 18-06-2009 02:04 AM

ooh, it seems she's changed the cover art for her album:

I preferred the original one personally.

xDramatick 19-06-2009 07:55 AM

The original one was much better.

I love VV, but I liked the original one better.

Popstar VV Brown has revealed that she is launching her own comic next month.

The singer has collaborated with David Allaine, the director of her 'Crying Blood' music video, on a five-instalment series called The City of Abacus.

"The first instalment's got the same title as my album - Travelling Like The Light - and you'll be able to buy it online when the album comes out," she told DS.

"We're also pushing for a distribution deal so you can buy it when you pick up my album in the store."

The star of The City of Abacus, which Brown describes as "very political - kind of Manga Marxism" - is based on the singer herself.

"The character in the comic is kind of subconsciously me. She's got a hairstyle like me and she's half-human, half-chicken because I have chicken legs," she said.

VV Brown releases debut album Travelling Like The Light on July 20.
DS

sounds cool, I hope it comes with the CD.

they just don't like appaz. such a pity, this could have been her breakout single.

MarkWaldorf 28-06-2009 02:35 PM

Wtf, how can they? Is it not their job to play music, regardless of personal taste? The chorus is super catchy too..

MrGaryy 28-06-2009 02:36 PM

It's all down to what playlist it makes it on to. A List, B List ect. they just play what they think will be big. I reckon she'll get a lot of Radio 2 plays though, she suits their sound very much.

MarkWaldorf 28-06-2009 02:38 PM

This song is easily number one potential. Pixie Lott could do it, yet SitW is miles better.

MrGaryy 28-06-2009 03:16 PM

ifkr, Pixie can kiss VV's ass. Clearly this type of music is popular atm, like I said before, they're loosing out more than VV is.

MrGaryy 09-07-2009 03:33 PM

album leaked. D:

i listened on YT and loved, but I've preordered the album from itunes so i'll just wait.

Shaun 09-07-2009 10:58 PM

The album's leaked on SIN. Got it and devouring it as we speak.

MrGaryy 09-07-2009 10:59 PM

yeah erm i just said that *files nailz*

Shaun 09-07-2009 11:10 PM

Gary if you filed your nails half as much as you claim to do, your fingers would be red-raw.

Shaun 09-07-2009 11:20 PM

Of the new material I haven't heard before [5 tracks ] I'm very much loving L-O-V-E and Crazy Amazing.

Only tracks I'm not big on are Refresh Me and Back in Time.

Shaun 10-07-2009 03:26 PM

Shark In The Water is No#21 on the iTunes chart...hopefully that means a top-40 placement.

MarkWaldorf 10-07-2009 03:36 PM

Apparently it's in the top 40 by the 'skin of its teeth'

MrGaryy 13-07-2009 04:56 AM

it got to 38 :(

seriously, it;s a crying shame Radio 1 refuse to playlist, it's amazing. The chorus gives me chills.

MrGaryy 16-07-2009 07:39 PM

SitW has risen and is as of yesterday only just outside the Top 30! will probs be T20 by Sunday!
