BB_Eye 04-07-2009 09:42 PM

I never saw this scene. Mikey was a pretty good judge of character last year though and one of the few people who saw through slimeball Rex.

Akerbie 04-07-2009 11:54 PM

Why would you praise someone for having dyslexia? Makes no sense!

cookiemonster 05-07-2009 12:00 AM

it wasn't a backhanded compliment. you're looking into it too much. you all saw how Sree thought he was gods gift coz he was univeristy president. he thought he was the president of the US the way he went on. he was up himself about his academic abilities and the comment he said to Freddie was in a cruel way and extremely out of order.

He said the 15 x 15 thing because he studies maths didn't he?
so you're saying he said it because he thought freddie thought himself superior to get to oxford with dyslexia?? so sree responded by trying to take him down a peg by.... picking up on the fact he's got dyslexia!!

the 'lost in translation' is used as an excuse far too much with him. you forget that he has mangaged to get through a uni course in english and was student president. these things couldn't happen if he struggled with the language THAT much

i think theres a fair few in here who seemed to have overlooked the actual conversation, but before i say anything else let me just point out this is no diffrent from charlie just saying rodrigos name is strange and rodney thinking it was racist. you hear sree say dislexia and all of a sudden get all excited?

if anyone actually heard the arguement, you would have heard him say "i apreciate your a oxford student with dislexia" which is diffrent to saying "your a dislexic fuccker and your dumb",he then made the 15 15 comment which you assume means he's reffering to his dislexia yet he used the same thing against marcus?marcus dislexic too yeh?nope he simply explained he's smart enough despite not being from oxford..but yeh lets jump on the hate sree bandwagon :colour:
Is this really is the case, then why didn't he defend his comment to Davina? If someone has misinterpreted something I had said I wouldn't waste any time in setting them right. When Davina asked him about the comment Sree didn't even make an attempt to say that he meant it in a good way. It simply seemed like he was trying to justify using it in a negative way with that old "I have a friend..." excuse. That is when he lost the benefit of the doubt in my eyes.

i think the whole indian accent thing is put on anyway by sree....someone who goes to uni with him says he dosent speak like that normally

But he hardly had the chance to defend himself. Admittedly Sree does go around in circles when he is trying to say something, but it isn't a crime! People should realise that and not try and twist every comment the poor bloke ever tried to make.

if i say your a racist, your first defence would probably be well i have a coloured friends so im not, thats all he said but with his broken english thats why you dont understand (apologees if that sounds patronising) i just mean i know many with the same language problems, and they get in so many fights that i have to break up cause someone mistook what the said and most are like you and dont accept the true nature of what was meant..

I'm not trying to twist what he said, when he first said it, in the BB hosue, I wasn't sure whether he meant it negatively. But he had plenty of time when Davina asked him, to say "I didn't meant it neagatively, I said I appreciate you've had troubles with dyslexia..." but he didn't. Surely if someone was accusing you of saying something negative, when you meant it as a possitive thing, you'd set them right so you didn't look bad?

Presumably, there had been discussion before about Halfwit getting to Oxford despite his disorder and Sree was using it as a backhanded compliment. "What's 15 x 15" was just Sree being childish about his own academic ability. Dyslexia has nothing to do with numbers. When Davina asked Sree about the incident he did seem genuinely confused as to why she was asking him, rather than playing the innocent.
I think your bullshit-o-meter is broken. Sree is a horrible excuse for a man, he is a CREEPY CREEP!

If I had said something that someone has misinterpreted as being rascist, my first defence would be: "That's not what I said, you're taking it out of context, I have never been rascist and never would be, what I said was...."

I can understand that Sree doesn't have perfect English, and can sometimes garble what he says or ramble on. This should have all been sorted out in the BB house anyway, maybe Sree would have had a better chance to say what he meant if BB had questioned him about it in the Diary room as they should have.

But people are not going to say things word for word how you expect them to. I could see perfectly well that he was trying to defend himself in his own gabbling manner but he was cut short from his answer by Davina.

Well this is why he should have been properly questioned in the Diary room when it happened. The BB prodcuers clearly thought he meant it in a negative way, so he should have been questioned. They wasted no time in questioning Marcus when they thought he was using Sree's accent in a negative way.

he wasn't trying to defend himself at all, he knew he was in the wrong and dodged the question, like every other question that was asked of him that night. it's not to do with him not being able to get the words out, if you watched BBBM he said "ask me these questions when cameras are off and i give you truth answers" so it wasn't to do with the language. it must be very easy to hide behind that when you're in the wrong and some of you are buying into it.

perhaps but your first defence sounds rational, but if you didnt have such a good grasp on english you would sound more like "huh?noo, noo i have a mate whos coloured" and then you'd get cut off by davina,so you'd try again and the same would happen. if you saw him on big mouth you wouldve seen someone in the audience ask him how he fell for noirin in two weeks,he didnt give a rational "err i duno i just liked her" type of response,he said "it is like the weather, you dont know when it rains or sunny"..
he got booed so davina had to explain "do you mean you cant choose when you fall in love" to which sree confirmed it..

so its not like he tries to dodge an issue, its just his english isnt as polished as most others.i garauntee when rodrigo comes out you will see much of the same type of answer, you already saw angels interview?you saw her waffle right?and she didnt even have hard questions, its just how it works when english isnt your first language..

Well as I said to Twiggy, this is why he should have been called in by BB and been questioned about it. Then he could have had as much time as he needed to set them right.

Yes it would have made some sense if BB had given Sree the chance to explain what he meant in the diary room, but it isn;t his fault they didn't.
As for Marcus, I feel that BB were merely pointing out to him that his manner in which he spoke to Sree was very aggressive, although done very badly in the way they put it over. This isn't Srees fault either.

ok, whatever. you have you're opinion and i have mine. i think he was dodging all of them because he didn't want to answer any of them. he was used to just running to Lisa whenever anything hard came up for him, but didn't like it when he was forced to actually answer a question about some fo the things he did.

yeh probably best to agree to disagree,i see why your saying what your saying but i know people who speak the perfect english and still cant answer straight (cairon had that problem) so i dont see why the same lee way cant be given to sree..im not saying hes king and can do no wrong, more so i just see how hard he was struggling to answer each question.but he was attempting to answer them. so simply cause the time was limited and he didnt get to explain himself eliquently enough most will think he dodged it..

so fair play still

and manic wolf, forgive me for not quoting you again but i completely agree and see what your saying, that would have been the right course of action but hopefully people wont use it as a reason to blame sree some more...
