Victoria Beckham's charitable son
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/showbiz...0c685d0e25.jpg Victoria Beckham is "delighted" her son is undertaking charity work. Brooklyn Beckham - the star's eldest child with husband David Beckham - visited poverty-stricken state Kentucky with Save The Children after learning about the state at his exclusive school in Los Angeles. The 10-year-old youngster played soccer with children at Manchester Elementary School and presented them with shoes and backpacks, before joining in with an after-school reading group. He and Victoria then went to read with children at nearby Big Creek Elementary school. Victoria said: "I'm pleased Brooklyn is learning that by helping and joining other children he can play a role in making his generation the greatest yet. "Seeing Save the Children's innovative programmes in action, I know that we can begin to reverse the childhood poverty crisis." As one of the poorest counties in America, Clay County has high illiteracy rates and obesity in children is a massive problem. She added: "What I saw in Clay County was the hope and promise inherent in every child. "That's why we have to make sure every single child has a fair and equal start in life." The former Spice Girls star was said to be "thrilled" when Brooklyn said he wanted to accompany her on the charity visit. A source said: "She thinks it will help Brooklyn keep his feet on the ground." Victoria and David - who live in upmarket Beverly Hills - have two other sons, Romeo, seven, and four-year-old Cruz. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/showbiz...nt_8971609.htm |
Victoria Beckham : Posh to start her own modelling agency?
Victoria Beckham is joining hands with her manager Simon Fuller to start their own modelling agency, according to reports. The former Spice Girl, who already has her own successful fashion label, is reportedly in talks with Fuller to set up a new business venture in New York. “Simon knows that Victoria is very savvy when it comes to fashion. His first foray into fashion was to team up designer Roland Mouret and Victoria, which was a huge success,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying. “Victoria is a key asset to Simon and he wants her to take on a major role,” added the source. Simon – who was the manger of Spice Girls – already has a 51 per cent controlling stake in London agency Storm Models and wants something similar in the US. |
GERI HALLIWELL'S HAIRDRESSER SURPRISE
Geri Halliwell's new hairdresser was amazed when she greeted him wearing just her underwear - because she thought he was gay. Geri Halliwell greeted her hairdresser wearing just her underwear. The former Spice Girls star had hoped to bond with her stylist and reportedly answered the door to him wearing just her bra and pants because she thought he was gay and swiftly changed her behaviour when she realised her mistake. The unnamed hairdresser told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "She presumed that because I'm a hairdresser I'd be gay. Well I'm not, I love ladies. "The sight of her standing there in her bra and knickers was embarrassing, so I told her to get dressed so I could focus. She was then embarrassed too and once she'd got her clothes on, she was quite rude. "I started to feel really uncomfortable being in her home. Not surprisingly, she never called me back. A week later, I found she'd hired my gay friend." While Geri, 37, has struggled to bond with her hairdresser, other stars don't have the same problem. Jessica Simpson and her stylist Ken Paves - who previously worked together on a range of hair extensions - have been close friends for years and are regularly seen enjoying evenings together. Last year, Ken was rushed to hospital after he was hit in the face by a photographer's camera following dinner with Jessica. Kate Moss is also close to her hairdresser James Brown and featured heavily in a recent documentary following the crimper as he set up his own salon. However, the supermodel was said to have been furious with how frequently she appeared, causing friction in their friendship. http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf...rprise_1123159 |

Mel C also said that she is fascinated by her 9-month-old baby with Thomas Starr, saying: "I'm constantly astounded by her. I could stare at her for hours. I find it incredible to think that she's part of me and Tom. It's impossible to explain how life-changing motherhood is." She added: "Looking after a baby is the hardest job in the world. Doing the day job is a bit of a rest! I thought that I'd worked hard before - I lived on so little sleep in the Spice Girls - but nothing could have prepared me for being a new mum. It totally wiped me out." http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...-daughter.html |
Spice Girls - The musical
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.queersigh...pice-girls.jpg The long rumoured Spice Girls musical has finally been confirmed. Unlike the trend of musicals based on established artists such as Queen, Rod Stewart and Take That, the show will not just feature their songs around a fictional story but will actually be more closely based on the story of the Spice Girls. How Posh, Scary, Ginger, Baby and Sporty came from nowhere to the biggest girl group in the world. The show will be called 'Viva Forever' - named after their 1998 number 1 single. It will feature 14 of their biggest hits. The script is currently being written by manager Simon Fuller's brother Kim Fuller. It's not the first time that he has been involved with the girls. He also wrote the screenplay for the one and only Spice Girls movie 'Spice World' - released in 1997. The first Spice Girl to leave the group, Geri Halliwell has been heavily involved in the project and is set to turn her hand to producing. The singer turned author will be an executive producer to the show. 'Viva Forever' will be launched in London's West End on November 5th, 2010. Depending on the reaction that the opening receives, the show is likely to go to Broadway and then tour around the world. In the meantime, Mel C is currently starring in her first musical, Blood Brothers in London. She is the first of the girls to star on stage, and plans to work on a new solo album. Mel B has had a busy year with her burlesque show and TV work, whilst Emma Bunton has her own radio show, and Victoria Beckham has her own clothing range and perfume. http://www.queersighted.co.uk/2009/1...s-the-musical/ |

The former Spice Girl has been dating British aristocrat Henry Beckwith for almost a year, and is rumored to be setting out plans to make the English gent her husband. According to Britain's The Sun, Halliwell met with a vicar at London's St. John at Hampstead church for more than an hour with the support of her friend Goss, George Michael's partner. And after leaving the church, they visited an upmarket menswear shop. An onlooker tells British newspaper The Sun, "Geri and Kenny seemed to spend the day making wedding arrangements. They were in the church ages before looking at formal dress at the tailors. Geri was giggling and seemed really excited. She wouldn't say what they were doing, but Kenny let the cat out of the bag." The former Spice Girl told the News of the World that she has started writing her own material. "I was in the studio last week," she said. "I've only done a handful of tracks. I'm waiting to find a sound that I'm happy with but I'm writing all my own stuff. "I've got a lot going on this year but I'm making time to be in the studio. I was in there 'til five in the morning. The group will sing two songs, one of which is reported to be their 1996 hit single 'Wannabe' which was a number one in more than 30 countries. :amazed: I'm glad they're involved somehow ..a couple of weeks ago Mel C was saying that they werent included in the opening song list

I think Spice Girls are viewed very differently in America than they are in the rest of the world. It seems like the rest of the world takes them seriously as a music group lol, in America they are just seen as a pop joke.
It always makes me smirk when i hear Brits talk about Spice Girls as a serious band. |
well they are the best selling girl group of all time..
|
Like it or not the Spice Girls are British icons. They should indeed be involved with the Olympics.

Obviously they aren't a "serious" band, but pop music isn't meant to "serious". It's meant to be fun, which is exactly what the Spice Girls are. The Spice Girls are iconic, all around the world. Their level of fandom in the 90s was unbelievable, they were massive. |
